QuoteCOOLEY SHOWS HIMSELF
Posted by Mike Florio on September 14, 2008, 10:31 p.m.

taterskins tight end Chris Cooley has endeared himself to the blogosphere by operating his own blog.  Unlike many athletes who have their own web sites and aspire to fill them up with informative content on a regular basis only to do neither, Cooley has generally delivered.

Most recently, he delivered a little too much.

Though the post has been deleted from Cooley's blog, the fine folks at Deadspin were able to capture the video evidence.

Cooley intended to take a photo of a page from his playbook revealing the "Tight End Test" for Sunday's game against the Saints.  The only problem?  He was naked at the time, the playbook was in his lap, and so the picture included an image of Cooley's penis.

Earlier in the evening, Deadspin's post included the, um, full Cooley.  The appendage was covered by a taterskins helmet (mini-size, apparently), after Cooley's brother contacted Deadspin and objected to the presence of his brother's junk on the Internet.

The bigger question, as we see it, is what in the hell was Cooley doing taking a picture of his playbook and putting it on the Internet?  Though not as obviously wrong as, say, having sex with the maid on your desk, we can't imagine how or why Cooley believed it would be appropriate, in light of the ultra-secretive world of the NFL, to put anything on the Internet regarding team strategy and preparation.

But, then again, a guy who didn't realize he posted a picture of his d–k on his blog likely doesn't have the best judgment.

QuoteI'm glad the NFC East is back to it's old roots and all the teams are good. This will FORCE the taterskins to become as good as everybody else and (hopefully) it's just a matter of time, injuries, and circumstances before it's our turn. I'm sure we'd have a near consensus poll amongst fans that we are better off in a shootout division with other great teams than being the biggest fish in a little pond like Seattle.

I think that in order for the taterskins (Or Cowboys, or Eagles, or Giants) to return to glory, the NFC East has to get there too. This clearly is happening and it's going to be a huge benefit for the taterskins. We are darn fortunate because it will be so much sweeter when we beat out all the other NFC East teams one year after another in the NFC Championship game. The dream ending would be for each NFC East team to humiliate an undefeated and arrogant New England Patriots team in the Superbowl turning them into the Buffalo Bills.

The AFC has ruled for way too long. It's time for the NFC to resurge and the proper order restored to the NFL Universe. Our division was always the best in the past and it looks like we will be at the top for a while now. The NFL needs this. We need this. Cheers to the NFC Eas

I like the fact that nobody in the world can really grasp the idea that the Giants won the SB last year. That means it didn't really happen.

Vinny Cerrato: Dan Snyder's New Radio Jock

Vinny Cerrato is coming soon to the airwaves. Four hours a week. Live on the radio from the newly-constructed studios at taterskins Park. How pumped are you?

The taterskins Executive Vice President is now a midmorning radio host. Amid being in charge of virtually everything connected to the football side of the taterskins, the man is owner Daniel Snyder's new jock. ESPN 980, owned by Snyder, will announce today that "Inside The Red Zone With Vinny Cerrato" is now a staple of its lineup, according to sources with knowledge of the information.

I've heard people say this over and over, that playing tough teams make a team better.
It absolutely does not, and is proven by numbers. The road to the superbowl is paved with weak schedules.

I agree - See 49'ers in the 1980's and early 1990's. Rams, Saints, Falcons, almost always sucked. Similar to New England and their division the past decade.

The lossless miami dolphins played a schedule that was in the top 99.5% of easiest schedules in the surrounding 50 years of football.
According to something I read like 4 years ago.

QuoteKen Harvey Joins The Washington taterskins as Director of Responsibility

ASHBURN, Va., Sept. 18

Newly-created position to manage resources aimed at promoting responsible conduct across the organization and the community

ASHBURN, Va., Sept. 18 -The Washington taterskins today announced that Ken Harvey has been appointed Director of Responsibility, and will serve as a resource and advisor in the development of responsibility initiatives focused on education and advocacy. The former linebacker will also work with the Washington taterskins Charitable Foundation in bringing responsibility programs directly to the fans and the community at large.

"After playing in the league for many years, I believe I have an excellent read on the demands players face on a daily basis from teammates, management, friends, family and business associates," said Harvey. "I think the team can benefit from that experience, especially the young athletes."

More proof Snyder and the skins are greedy scumbags:
Quotehttp://Painting of Sean Taylor Sparks Controversy
posted 3:58 pm Thu September 18, 2008 - LANDOVER, Md.
A painting honoring  murdered Washington taterskins (web|news) safety Sean Taylor is causing a lot of controversy.

The artist planned to sell his artwork showing Taylor and donate some of the money to charity. But the team has other ideas.

It hangs in Champs Restaurant in Pentagon Row, a 5x6 foot oil painting of Taylor, the taterskins safety killed last November.

"I think it's a great tribute to him," said one customer. "I think the painting itself is beautiful," said another.

But Jason Swain, who painted it as a tribute, can't sell it. The Kensington artist, who specializes in portraits, planned to sell the painting for $20,000 and donate $5,000 to Children's Hospital. He said the taterskins' management saw it on exhibit and liked it.

"But they wanted me to donate it to them," said Swain. "You know, 200 hours work, I really can't afford to give away a piece like this, and also the hospital wouldn't have made anything out of it," he said.

So he told the taterskins, no freebie.

"That's when I got the email saying the logos were a problem," said Swain.

The taterskins told Swain he would have to remove all team and NFL logos because of corporate branding and legal issues. So now Swain can't sell his painstaking tribute to Sean Taylor - unless he gets his paint brush back out.

"I just hate to change something like that - he's a taterskin, it's like he'd be wearing a blank uniform," said Swain. "It just wouldn't be the same."
