QuoteFAVRE TO THE taterskinS?Posted by Mike Florio on July 15, 2008, 2:11 p.m. EDT
A reader tells us that WFAN's Mike Francesa said earlier this afternoon that the Packers could be trading quarterback Brett Favre to the Carolina Panthers or the Washington taterskins for a conditional first-round draft pick.
The problem in that regard is that the Panthers don't own a first-rounder in 2009; they traded it to the Eagles.  But maybe the Packers would settle for the equivalent of a round-one selection under the points chart that teams use to value draft picks.

We'd previously heard that Favre's agent, Bus Cook, had been saying privately that Favre wants to play for the Panthers.  We hadn't previously considered the taterskins, but the light bulb finally flickered during a Tuesday afternoon radio visit with Big O & Dukes of WJFK in D.C.

Jim Zorn is the new coach of the taterskins, and he'll be using a version of the West Coast offense.  Favre has been running the West Coast offense for his entire career.

Also, taterskins owner Dan Snyder has a history of targeting big-name players, and of giving up draft picks to get them.  Given that franchise quarterbacks rarely if ever are available via trade or otherwise, perhaps Snyder and the 'Skins won't be able to resist.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Dream scenerio... they get him surrender a first and he plays like the old farve, throw it up and hope one of his wr's catches it

That would be so farging awesome. Can you imagine the hate that would be dumped on him twice a year when they played the Eagles? Well, except in SunMo's section of course. They'd probably quietly applaud his longevity and talk about what a 'gamer' he is.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington taterskins defensive end Phillip Daniels was undergoing tests on his left knee Sunday after injuring it during the first practice of training camp.

Daniels was hurt on the first play of 7-on-7 offense vs. defense drills.

He stayed down on the turf for several minutes before being taken away on a cart.

taterskins coach Jim Zorn said Daniels was having an MRI exam on the knee. Zorn added that the team is "hoping that all it is, is a hyperextension."

Phillip Daniels Out For Season

Jason Reid has learned that Phillip Daniels is out for the season. We are still pinning down the exact specifics of the knee injury, but it is indeed season-ending, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The taterskins were already thin at DE, and losing a starter on the first play of 7-on-7 drills is never a good thing, obviously.

Very first play of TC and he blows out a knee. Weird, sounds like LeCharles Bently. Send him to Cleveland Clinic for treatment and rehab.
