Too late. A month ago they were over twice that. And now I have no interest in going so stop tempting me, devil-woman.

See that's my thought - If you can't win then at least take some people out. But we have no Andre Waters or bounties or body bag mentalities here anymore. Crap if someone is running up the score take them out - who gives a farg about a $10k fine here or there. Maybe Cap'n Andy shoulda done that home a little more too.

When people first started floating the idea that the Pats/Brady deserved to be taken out by a dirty play, I didn't like it.

I've come around.

What they did Sunday night was as classless as it gets, and taken in the context of the rest of this season so far, I now advocate for someone to take  Brady out.  I have nothing against the guy personally...in fact I like him.  Moreover, it's not his fault what's going on...Coach is responsible.  But you can't take Belichek out, so you gotta take one of his guys out.  It's as much a part of the game as going for it on 4th and 1 inside the 30 with a 30 point lead, afterall.

The fact that week in and week out opposing players and coaches are spewing quotes about it being their job to stop him, not his job to let up makes me sick. If someone is jamming a loss down your throat it's your duty to play dirty until they leave the field crying.

True and true.

This is the one and only game that the defense can show me that they are going to play like men and are not going to roll over as the scuds and the rest of the country thinks.

If they come out and play hard, just for once in their farging lives...just once, play hard nosed football, late hits, smash mouth, runyan-supermans, andrews-come-from-nowhere blocks, non-Hoyda type shtein, this season can go to hell and I would be a proud Eagles fan.

If they come out and roll over and play dead and wait for the asspounding to stop like a skinny guy in his first day in prison...then...I will stop watching Eagles games the rest of the season.

This game will do it for me. Play like men, keep me as a watching fan, play like Hoydas, lose a watching fan for the season.

This game is balls.

If the Pats were just coasting through the season, collecting wins against inferior opponents, I might be convinced that they could come out flat and be surprised by the Eagles.  It has happened to some team every year since the Dolphins won them all.

That's not how the Pats are playing.  They are systematically destroying teams, then kicking them when they are down just to make sure they are dead.  Then they piss on the corpses.  The Pats are playing angry, no holds barred, no mercy.  It is a beautiful thing to watch.  I wish it could have been the Eagles.

Without a doubt the single best description of the Patriots season that I've read anywhere. Peter King, Prisco, Dr. Z, all those shmoes on ESPN...you just made all of them look like inarticulate hacks.   :yay

rjs246

Which, of course, isn't difficult because they all ARE inarticulate hacks.

I dunno - Akers is good for a sideline shot or two if he can get into position. Who cares if he gets ejected...not like they will have any need for PAT's or anything. Of course he'll only get one kick-off attempt in the game.

QB Eagles

just heard an amazing stat on wip

the eagles + all the teams theyve played this year have scored a combined 41 touchdowns

the patriots have scored 54

Amazingly false, although I think perhaps you didn't hear the stat correctly.

The Eagles have scored 20 TDs, and they have allowed 19 TDs.
The Patriots have scored 46 TDs, and they have allowed 19 TDs.

The Patriots have still scored more TDs by themselves than have been scored in Eagles games by both sides, but that stat is true for just about any team that, like the Eagles, has a top 10 defense in terms of TDs allowed.

Rome

I would be a poor sport if I said that I hope Tom Brady gets Darryl Stingley'd out there on Sunday.

Diomedes

best case scenario is someone like Monte Reagor annihilates Randy Moss..breaks his knees.  Both of them.  How that might happen, who cares...it's nice to dream.

I'm all for Brady and/or Moss going down, but I actually like the way they're running up the score.  It's the way I wish my teams would play.  No farging mercy.

Actually the Pats HAVE scored 54 TDs. The stats you were looking at must have been from last week before the Buffalo game. But aside from that, yeah...there's no way they've scored more TDs than 10 other teams. Not even close. I think Dallas by themselves have 40 TDs. Maybe it's the six teams left on the schedule? Even that seems farfetched.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
