Agreed with QB. But I think everyone here feels the same way...Don't take carries away from Westbrook and give them to Buck...just drop McNabb back 4 or 5 times less a game and give Buckhalter the ball. But that would skew the 80/20 pass-run ratio too much for the Ginger's liking.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Buck and Westbrook are having fine years, O-line is performing well in run blocking. Receivers look like shtein, starting Tight End is hurt, and McNabb's been dropped more frequently than Carr in Houston. So naturally Andy will keep airing it out.

The game was boring.

I expected them to lose the whole time.

Curtis' TD was real close to being called back for a delay of game, I was shocked they did not blow it dead.

Eric Mangini and Chad Pennington are colossal dumbasses. If Reid did what those two yokels did at the end we'd be murdering him. Who the hell goes for the sneak on 3rd and 1 and then throws a low percentage fade on 4th?

The red-zone offense was atrocious.

well the sneak had been working in the game and i remember it really being less than a yard. i dont see that as a bad call but the 4rth down play was so dumb even reid wouldnt try it. i mean reid would do a pass to the flats to tapeh or something.

huh?

if they run the ball and its to buckhalter then thats a carry taken from westbrook

im not saying to not run buck but id rather westbrook get another five carries than buck

I know this is venturing into broken record territory here but I'd rather the run/pass ratio be inverted for a change.

They passed the ball 35 times and ran it 26 times (plus two for Donovan - although I think both of those were busted pass plays).  If they run the ball 35 times and give Westbrook & Buck those extra nine carries, how much time does that take off the clock?  Moreover, Westbrook looked like he was poised to bust one every damn he touched the ball, yet Reid/Morningdouche kept calling pass plays.

It's just inexplicable to me that with a weapon like Westbrook and an offensive line that absolutely mauls the defense they wouldn't take advantage of that.

the only reason the ratio was that close in the jets game is cause they were leading the entire second half against a pathetic team

in the first half it was 21-10 pass...how about trying to establish a running game early and then by the time the second half comes around the defense is worn down...

more importantly how bout running to set up the pass....this is especially important now with mcnabb not being able to move like he used to...it was one thing to pass all the time and allow the defense to pin their ears back when you had a qb that was a threat to bust a huge run at anytime...but now you have a pocket passer and it crucial to use things like the run and play action to protect him

The only way that ratio switches is when Kolb takes over the helm his first years.

Other than that, McNabb is still Superman in Reids eyes and he feels his best chance is in the air.  Old habits are hard to break, especially when your as stubborn as Reid

Pounding Westbrook back to back, multiple times like a LT or LJ will never be in the cards.

Did anyone else literally "LOL" at the first play of the game?

Play-action long pass!  That'll fix their wagon, Andy!

Andy trying to play 1st play triple reverse psychology with the opposing coaches is showing brutal signs of decline

The actual amazing thing about that is how often it actually works.  They hit on the better part of 35-40% of those openers, I'd guess.  And what idiot isn't looking for that at this point?

Magical_Retard

yeah a play action on your first play could work if your known to run the ball consistently.

i love how even when westbrook gets a big run...the very next play is always a play action pass. its as if he thinks that just one run out of 4-5 plays is enough to fool the defense into playing the run.

even i dont play that dumb in madden.

tuesdays on WIP they play a merrill reese moment all day....basically a 30 second recap of the past weeks game by merrill....

one of his observations from todays moment was that "donovan mcnabb was out there throwing passes that most qb's can only dream of making"
