I finished season 3 over the weekend and started season 4.

Season 3 was incredible.  The last two episodes especially.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

My initial reaction was that season 3 was my favorite. Story wise it wasn't the best but action wise and how pivotal it was to the entire series did it for me. I'm still waiting for 4 to come Ondemand (maybe it already is but I think I saw June 8th) but memory tells me it was the best season. I could go 1 or 3 as tied for second. 2 is the most underrated. 5 is a distant 5th, I won't spoil anything for you but the more I watch earlier episodes the worse that season looks. (igy will be along shortly to remind everyone season 5 of the wire >>>>>>>>>> everythng else on tv)

actually after seeing five another three times and just started my fourth go round its gotten a lot better...its especially better when you can go right into it after season four as opposed to the two year wait or whatever it was when season four originally ended...its still the 'worst' season but it gets better with age and is ridiculously good

its useless to try and rank the first four seasons because the minute you do you watch them again and completely change your opinion...they are all equally good in their own special way...gun to my head today id go

2
1
4
3

5

i just watched 1 and 2 for the 2nd time and am in the midst of doing 3 for the 2nd time. i already did 4 and 5 twice, but i stick at:

4, 1, 2, 3, 5

but yea, they are equally good in their own special way. the problem is they are so good it sucks that it ends. like with 1 the story was terrific then you have a letdown going to the port story. but then that turns into something incredible, but it then it ends. the politics/hampsterdam story and newspaper thing dont come anywhere close to the initial barksdale investigation, schools or port story. they are still great in their own right, but on different levels of greatness.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I just got HBO again and they show only the second half of season 3 on demand.

I've said it before, but I'll just buy the thing because I want to own them all. I'm going through withdrawal and hopefully I will be able to find time to sit down and start watching again.

its unbelievable how the show is much better the more you watch it and you never stop catching new things you missed on prior viewings....at least i havent yet

yea season 1 judge to pearlman: "you keep this up, maybe in 10 years you'll be in a robe."

even the first episode of season 4 the look royce gives his secretary and the next episode opens with her blowing him. you dont even notice it first viewing up second or third you catch that they kind of smirk at each other.

The entire season was up but they took the first half off within the past week. Hopefully they put the first half of season 4 up since there's space. The last 6 episodes of season 3 expire June 8th.

4, 3, 1 or 2.........5

4, 2, 1, 3,.....5

4 was pretty much the most amazing season of a tv series i've ever seen.  2 to me was damn good.  1 the first introduction to the characters and it all was really a setup for great things to come.  Season 3 was another beyond solid season.  Then there was the final season, still good, but a little off from the previous seasons
