ive seen like two episodes...im sure in its time it was a fine show but its unwatchable if youve seen the wire...same thing is true about 'the corner'

i kinda wish i had wtached both of them before ever seeing the wire

the corner is terrific. actually its great to see how several wire characters have bit parts in it, since we never ever see them in anything else.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

actually the corner isnt even that good if the wire didnt exist

actually it is. the dude that played gary or whatever his name is was sensational. the chick who played franny who is going to be in simons new show was also great. the kid, eh, but god damn if the junkies were not 1000x more harrowing than anything we saw from bubs. those scenes in the crack house were brutal to watch.

well you saw it before the wire so il give you a pass...but again even taking the fact that i saw the wire first its still really boring with lots of over acting

i watched the Corner before the Wire came out, like MDS was saying it was brutal to see the family shtein on the Corner.  I havent seen it in what 10 years now so i dont know how it'll compare.  Either way i want to watch Homicide, just to see how it was.

i watched the corner in the middle of s4 and s5 of the wire. still great. obviously not on the same planet as the wire but then again what is.

Just started watching the box set last night.  BONER

Also, got the wifey watching with me since she's tired of me talking about it, about 20 mins in she was hooked.  She likes it since she knows so many of the actors from different shows

wow ive never heard of someone being hooked 20 minutes in...because of the slow build up and the intracacy of the storyline even most of the biggest wire fans i know took a full episode or two

i think my constant talking bout it, plus knowing characters from all the Law and Order shows, and CSI's, she liked it.  Again, she's still confused about what happened in Traffic 8 years ago, it was too much for her to keep up.  The early character development for me is clutch, its like as each scene goes on, you can see how its growing into something much bigger.  Having not watched from the start in like 9 years, or whatever its been since the first showings of it, its better than i had thought.  I was a bit worried that looking the second time, that it would disappoint me, but so far 2 epi's in, its what i was hoping for again.

i was hooked 7 seconds in, so there
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

ive watched the entire series more than ten times and i would say it wasnt until maybe the 7th or 8th viewing where it wasnt still getting better with each watch and the second time was infintely better than the first

its really hard to "get" the first time thru which makes for a less satisfying watch
