The music dubbed over the final episode...I couldnt catch what happened to Herc in his disciplinary hearing. Did he lose his stripes? He's not the brightest bulb.

I felt bad for Randy too. He's gonna carry that label until he gets killed or moves out of Baltimore.

youll find out what happens to herc in five

the scene with randy going in the group home is devastating

I think what I love the most about this series, and any series really (Sopranos, some of the books I read) is how intricate and day to day they go. No real small details are left out and I love that.

Bodie getting capped was sad too. He turned into one of my favorites.

Also - Marlo, I hope he goes down. When he had that security guard offed...it pissed me off.

You want it one way, but its the other way
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Absolutely. It is the king of TV. I told my girl today that I was going to go back and re-watch so I can pick up on missed things and understand everything more plus I can watch the commentaries and bonus stuff.

I want to burn through 5, but I also wanna take it slow and cherish the last season because I know there is no more after this.

Why did Simon end it after 5? Was it his or HBO's call?

simons

he was lucky to get 5

I'm not up on the history behind the show.

Seabiscuit36

it was one of the worst watched shows in HBO history, but they believed in it.  I'm getting the Complete Box set for christmas

you have to give credit to HBO not just for keeping the wire on that long but for not messing with it...to my knowledge they only dipped their corny stick into it once in five seasons and that was in making simon include the gant testify flashback scene at the end of the first episode

It's still funny to me since HBO killed so many other shows that were good, Lucky Louie, Carnivale, by not giving them a chance.  Whoever the higherups were at HBO that loved the Wire really got something right for once.
