More gems from the PR machine:

QuoteYou are comparing the Eagles to Detroit. Is that valid? Are you threatening? Exactly what have the Eagles done wrong, other than not win a Super Bowl?

Wowzers.

Well, you can start off with employing the biggest dumbass in the Philadelphia media. Drafting 6 years worth of busts at wide reciever. Not being able to put any decent linebackers on the field for 6 years except Trotter and he's more or less done. Terrible, terrible clock managment and game day coaching.

I could think of more but I'm done typing.

It is them trying to act like they know more than everyone again. Just like with Simoneau.

Simoneau was a key piece of the deal to get Stallworth.  Clearly, the Eagles are planning to build up Fowler's value just enough so that they can trade him for help at WR in three years.

ice grillin you

I could understand the contract if he had a real shot at a starting job, but not with Trotter around.

he does have a shot at a starting job...thats how bad the eagle linebackers are that ryan fowler has a chance to beat out the eagles best LB

admittedly i had never heard of ryan fowler so i wont/cant comment on his play but if hes getting anywhere near the reported money he is here to win the mlb job
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Apparently, SAM is a possibility too... although if he can't cover fullbacks, I doubt he can man up on Shockey or Witten.

At the end of Les Bowen's article today:

QuoteEagles sources say that contrary to reports, the Birds have no interest in safety Mike Doss, a Colts free agent.

Diomedes

This has no real bearing, but didn't Doss get arrested for waiving or firing a gun in the street some time back?

They'll take no player that wants to be a part of their team? Who the farg put Groucho Marx in charge?

excerpt from Paul Domowich article on "Is this team good enough for them to be able to make a Super Bowl run in '07?"
QuoteIt is, if Donovan McNabb comes back healthy and stays that way.
It is, if the Eagles find a way to replace the outside speed they're losing with Stallworth's departure.
It is, if Brodrick Bunkley ever wakes up and realizes he's not in Tallahassee anymore, Toto.
It is, if the Eagles weren't kidding themselves in thinking Chris Gocong actually can make the significant leap from pass-rushing college defensive end to NFL strongside linebacker.
It is, if a lighter Jeremiah Trotter can give the Eagles more production in fewer snaps.
It is, if 33-year-old Brian Dawkins has one more Pro Bowl-caliber season in him.
It is, if Sean Considine can add 10 pounds of muscle to his frame and become a better run defender.
It is, if Jevon Kearse becomes a dominant pass rusher again and Darren Howard can be a lot more productive than he was last season.
And it is, if recently re-signed Will James stays healthy and gives the Eagles a corner with some size to match up against the Plaxico Burresses and Terrell Owenses of the world.
Boy, that's a lot of ifs.

plus this line:   But hey, aren't you starting to get really, really psyched for that training-camp kick-return battle between Bethel Johnson and Jeremy Bloom?

I think I'm gonna have to do a LOT of extra drinking this year.
