And that's fine if they can get him on the cheap, but do you think the FO thought that he would go this long without any offers?  Do you think he was someone they had targeted as a possible replacement for Lewis or would you say that it's something that has been a recent development because of the lack of interest he's been getting?

Doss is a much better cover guy than Lewis, he's also a better safety.

Was reading his bio on Wikpedia, check this little blurb out at the end:
QuoteIt has been recently reported that Doss is close to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles

I hope he's better than Blaine Bishop.

yet for some reason there will be a GET DOSS/LEWIS SUCKS crowd
I like both players. I like Doss more, but I dont know as much about him. Lewis is one of the best safety run defenders in the league. His coverage skills arent as bad as people make it seem, but he has really bad instincts. I've never seen a guy try to jump an in route when the WR was 15 yards in front of him only to allow a TD deep because of it.

QuoteEagles | Team offers Fowler a contract
Sat, 10 Mar 2007 10:45:09 -0800

Calvin Watkins, of The Dallas Morning News, reports the Philadelphia Eagles have made a contract offer to restricted free-agent LB Ryan Fowler (Cowboys).

It must have been a great deal if they couldn't even get him to sign the offer sheet, considering he's an undrafted special teams white boy linebacker that's been quite vocal about not wanting to play in Dallas any longer.

The BIGSTUD

Donnie Edwards signs with Chiefs for 3 years 13.5 and 7.5 SB.

Rod Hood signs with Arizons for 5 year deal.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Just came here to post that about Hood.

F'n pisses me off. Another one to scratch off my shopping list... and not in a good way.

F'n Giants. **shakes fist**
Maybe the voices aren't real, but, they've got some pretty good ideas...

Free agency brought three visitors to town Friday.

One was unrestricted free agent Kevin Curtis, a career No. 3 wide receiver at St. Louis fast becoming Plan B for the Eagles. Curtis might be one Donte' Stallworth out-of-state press conference from occupying the team payroll.

Two was restricted free agent Ryan Fowler, a product of Duke by way of the Dallas Cowboys who at 6-3 and 250-pounds could be the successor to veteran middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter.

Three? That would be head coach Andy Reid, who interrupted a leave of absence to meet with the guests, the first outsiders to visit the organization in free agency. Reid made instant – and it appears – lasting impressions. It can't hurt recruiting and may be a sign he's working through the deep legal and personal issues that soon will determine the futures of his 23 and 21-year-old sons.

The BIGSTUD

I'm sick of the Eagles FO, but I can't fault them for Edwards. He really badly according to Schefter wanted to go back to KC to finish his career. Unless we significantly beat their offer, then he wouldn't have came here, and at 34, you can't beat that offer by much without being stupid.

Still... they better go OLB in the first round. No excuses.

Never happen. Sad as it is to say I almost wouldn't be surprised if they went for a lineman.
