Anyone saying Manning shouldn't be in the discussion for best of all time because he's only won ONE Super Bowl needs to pull their head out of their asses.  There will be no question when his career is over that he will be one of the top 3 QB's to ever play the game of football, whether he wins another or not.

:-D

He won't be better than Montana, Elway, Brady, and others so top 3 isn't even a debate. Maybe top 10, we'll see. He still doesn't play that great in playoff games and played pretty poorly overall in the playoffs. As weird as it sounds, the Colts defense won them the Superbowl.

Maybe top 10?  You're clueless.

By the time Manning's done... he's going to have most, if not all of Marino/Favre's passing records and at least one Super Bowl Title to validate the whole thing.  It's not like this is the end of the road for him.  He's only 30 years old.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but on DNL right now they were showing the Colts parade.

I'm not kidding or exaggerating when I say that there were MAYBE 100 people. I've never seen anything so farging pathetic in my life.

Really? You are already to put him ahead of Montana, Elway, Aikman, and probably Brady? I could go on, but my head is too far up my ass.

You do realize that the regular season counts and that Manning is basically unrivaled there, right?

That would be a start to pulling your head out.

Manning passed Brady this year with ease.

Brady is in a different universe than Manning. He is a MUCH better QB.

C'mon, dude.  He's already better than Aikman.  Elway was in the same boat as Manning until they got a running game to complement him.  Manning could probably win games without a running game.  And none of the aforementioned guys called every play from scrimmage, like Manning does.  I think he's an arrogant, self-effacing prig, but he's one hell of a quarterback.
Anyone but Reid.

Manning will never be as good as Brady until he can prove he can take teams with players like Gaffney and Caldwell deep into the playoffs, and can lead his teams on game winning Superbowl drives multiple times.

Brady, like Aikman, is a function of the offense.  Coaching, not Brady, is the key to the Patriots.
Bledsoe sucks way too hard to have been effective, even with good coaching.
Anyone but Reid.

The BIGSTUD

Don't agree with that. Brady is accurate as hell, is great at reading defense, stepping away from pressure and looking off defenders. Belichick is probably the best coach in NFL history, but I think Brady did a great job in making him so.

I am not at all disputing the fact that Manning is a great Qb.  The guys you mentioned as being system QBs, well isn't that what Manning is he has played in the same offense his entire career.  All I am saying is that until lastnight there were many questions and well deserved at that, as to whether Manning could ever win the big one.  Montana, Brady, and Aikman have never been questioned.

Manning is an awesome Qb, I am just not ready to say that he is one of the top 3 of all-time.  If he wins another than yes he probably will be.

No, DM, I disagree.  Brady and Aikman work within a system provided by the coach.  The coach calls/ed plays which played to their strengths.

Manning IS the OC on the field.  He calls all the plays from scrimmage, and they practice fake audibles so he can be more difficult to track.  Manning is superior to almost anyone else who has ever played because he's running the show, not someone on the sideline.

He's also a pretentious twat, and when anything goes wrong it's not his fault.  I'd like to nuke that whole gene line.
Anyone but Reid.
