Tomas Perez has won a spot on the Astros roster apparently.

Get yo shaving cream ready, Houston.

Baltimore released Jay Gibbons and ate $11.9M of his contract. A few thoughts;

1. He was in the Mitchell Report and I give credit to the O's for just dumping his ass because it is obvious he is not the same guy off the juice and has injury issues. Which only makes me more furious that Angelos, a known idiot, seems smarter than the Phillies management for eating a large portion of a contract just to get rid of a bum (I"m looking at you, Adam Eaton).

2. Back when Abreu was here and Eskin would do his daily Abreu bashing, he would always pimp Jay Gibbons as a guy who he wanted to play RF for the Phillies. I wonder what good ol' Chief thinks about this? Is he crushed that his man-crush Gibbons was a juicer? Hopefully someone will call him and ask about it this week.

Jayson Stark picks the Braves to win the WS.

WTF?

I guess it is a sexy pick to pick them to rebound after the fell off the last couple of years. And I am not one to underestimate Bobby Cox. They have a good group of players led by Francouer, McCann and Texeira but WS winners?

lol the racists in dc booed pres. bush as he threw out the first pitch. i wish that idiot came to philly, he wouldnt just get booed.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

The Kruker picked the Braves too. He said because of the strength of their starting rotation. Same starting rotation as last season aside from Old Man Glavine.

Zimmerman walk off against the World Series Favorites

By the way, that RF fence in Washington's new yard is something Utley, Rollins and Howard are going to love. It's low; McCann hit a screamer line drive that almost went out.

Jones hit one nearly in that exact spot earlier.  Seems like if they can't juice any more, they'll make all the new parks nice and "cozy" for the hitters.  Chicks dig the long ball, after all.

The Kansas City Royals are baseballs only undefeated team.

Do they still have George Brett?

Bill Buckner throws out the first pitch.

QuoteRed Sox principal owner John Henry said players like their rings to be big and they like them to have plenty of bling. The ring is being made in two sizes, one of which, Henry said, "isn't wearable by most of us."

I wonder what he's getting at there.

So Detroits off to a nice start
