Wing with the best post of his life.

Sure, it was obviously hamfisted sarcasm but it was still a bullseye.

Not all that much sarcasm in it.

I don't care who juices up, in any sport. Let them all do it...it's only a matter of time that we see a 28 year old die of a heart attack or a massive stroke in the middle of a game.

I also don't care what these people get paid. Give them all $100M contracts...it's not my money. Yes...I am a phils ticket holder...but I have my limits, if my tickets go up too much, i'll dump them.

There are already signs of a public backlash against professional sports. The NFL is going to get hit with it first. I still think, that by 2015, one of the major pro leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) is going to threaten to fold because the public in general just doesn't care anymore, and they wont pay $75 for the cheap bleacher seats of a baseball game, or $200 for a replica jersey.

One of them was already almost a goner, so by 2015 I'll take a wild stab and say NHL

I don't even know if it will take that long.  Anyone know where thier tv ratings/attendence/revenue is at now compared to pre-lockout?

ice grillin you

i dont think any are going anywhere but besides the nfl nhl might be the safest league...they have really low payrolls excellent attendance thruout most of the league and the most hardcore dedicated fanbase of any sport

reese125

wasnt the low payrolls almost the cause of the collapse or was there other major reasons?

ice grillin you

there was a lockout to get spending in order...i dont know what you mean by collapse but if youre saying the league was anywhere close to folding then no

the difference btwn hockey and other sports whove had lockouts and strikes is that hockey attendance actually imporved after the stoppage...where as with other sports it takes time to get all the fans back....this is what im talking about when i say the nhl has the strongest fansbase of all sports

A man who attended the party said he has photographic proof that Roger Clemens attended Jose Canseco's shindig in 1998.

Clemens gave sworn testimony that he wasn't at the party, and Canseco recently backed him up. "We have reason to believe it's reliable evidence," Richard Emery, lawyer for Brian McNamee, told the Daily News. "We believe there's photographic evidence that shows Clemens was at a party he says he wasn't at."

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteKaz Matsui will miss four to five days with an Anal Fissure.

That's an unnatural tear or crack in the anus skin, for those of you not in the know. Matsui is expected to be out until at least Friday. Anal fissures can become chronic problems, but the Astros hope using a different medication will sooth Matsui's issue.

Yankees sign Billy Crystalto a 1-day minor league contract so he can play on Thursday

Crystal looked a lot like Pat Burrell out there.
