pierre is def worth 10 mil...hes arguably the best leadoff man in the league...the problem is the dodgers have no one to drive him in which is why he only scored 95 runs last year

Oh, man... if Billy Beane was still posting here he'd argue till he's blue in the cock over that statement.

they're still paying Pierre $10M/yr.  ha

I wish he had an arm, he'd be getting 15 mil a year.

Dude had 196 hits last season, 64 stolen bases and has a lifetime average of .301.

Not effing bad. HE was supposed to hit Rafael Furcal in. Unfortunately, Furcal only managed 157 hits and only stole 25 bases.

Hopefully they switch them this season.

Billy Beane or no...Juan Pierre is not that good. He had 3 guys hitting .300 behind him at the 2nd 3rd and cleanup....

With a guy like Pierre in the lineup, you need a lot of power in the middle.

Didn't Gillick pay Barajas $8m/year and Eaton $10m/year?  I don't think that as Phillies fans, we can mock the signing of Pierre at all.

Eaton got 3 years 24 million
Barajas got 1 year for 2.5 million, in fact, he's made about 8 million in his entire career total
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

PoopyfaceMcGee

So, it's cool for us to mock them for slightly overpaying for Pierre, then?

SunMo

i don't know about that, but it is cool to mock you for knowing close to nothing about what Pat Gillick did last offseason

Rome

He's a singles hitter with no power whatsoever and he doesn't walk nearly enough for a #2 hitter much less a leadoff guy.  He's also got a pop-gun for an arm and although he steals a lot of bases, he also gets caught a lot.

I think management was enamored with what Lofton did the previous season and thought Pierre was his perfect, younger replacement and wanted to snatch him at 10 million per. That is ridiculous.
