Tulsa Drillers first base coach Mike Coolbaugh was killed by a line drive in their game last night. He played for the Brewers and Cardinals sparingly in the MLB and spent almost 6 years in Houston's minor league system.

Linebrink was dealt to the Brewers for 3 marginal prospects. I know he hasn't been great the past two seasons but he would have been a huge upgrade over what we have at middle relief.

do the phillies even have three marginal prospects...their system is a train wreck right now

The Brewers gave up more than "marginal".  The one pitcher was their 2nd or 3rd-best prospect.

Other notes from last night:  ARod hit #499 and Glavine won #299

i dont know much about the guys they gave up but just because its your second or third best prospect doesnt meant they arent marginal

Inman was rated their 2nd or 3rd best prospect. He's only 20 and has a good K to BB ratio...high ERA though.
Thatcher might have a future in the league as a middle reliever...but he's 25

Milwaukee's farm is stacked with prospects so they could afford it.

But Linebrink ain't the Linebrink of old. I read some stats on him from June and they are average at best. But he's still better than the slop the Phils have, they just don't have any trade bait to get players like that.

Because once again - the price for pitching is crazy.

Kenny Lofton is back with Cleveland for the 3rd time....just got traded today
