You have to seperate financials from market share.

No I don't. You have to because it supports the anti-Apple argument.

Apple users are Philly fans & all other brand users are Cowboys fans.

There.  I said it.  What.

I'm not going to argue with this you.  The statement was made that Andriod is dominant in the market place.

You counter that it can't be true because look at the financals.

What I'm trying to show you is how Apple dominates profits even tho they do not have the largest market share.

You counter with planting your fingers firmly in your ears saying "la la la la I cant hear you because I wub apple and you hate them"

Look, if you won't take my word for it because I'm anti apple, then read this article from forbes:

They are saying the exact same thing I am.

can't part of the market share be attributed to the fact that every smart phone that isn't a blackberry or iphone runs android?

so you can buy an evo, or galaxy or whatever and run android.  or you have an iphone.

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

I'm not saying Android isn't doing better in many ways, but Dio's original statement is not correct.

Now, if you said "Android and Apple are killing BlackBerry," we'd all laugh at BlackBerry and nod.

There are other phone OS's out there, like Windows.  But if you are looking at just hardware alone, Samsung has a larger market share than Apple*

But I think its splitting hairs by pointing out phones vs OS.  When it come to computers, you never hear Apple vs Dell, you hear Apple vs PC

*I havent check in the last month or so, but I believe this still to be true.  With the iPhone 5 coming out, I expect this to swing the other way.

The debate is stupid. They're both tools and can mostly do the same sorts of thing very well. In a lot of ways, they have different audiences. I have an Android, and I think it's great. If I used a bunch of Apple products, there's a good chance I'd have an iPhone, because of the integration. Whatever.

This.  My 1st Apple product was the 1st gen iPod that played video.  I tried a Blackberry for my phone and hated it so I got the iPhone 3Gs since i was already set up with iTunes.  Then I bought an iPad. Then I upgraded to iPhone 4s. And now I have a Mac. Had there been another mp3 player on the market that rivaled the iPod, maybe I go in another direction. But I started with Apple and was pleased so I kept buying their products for uniformity sake.

I do think that Macs are superior to PC but when it comes to tablets and phones, they're all practically the same and the user interface is probably the only thing that separates Apple from Droid. And that's probably just personal preference/familiarity.

Android is kicking Apple's ass.

Not correct.

No?  I heard on the news yesterday that Android is now the dominant/most used OS and that it is still gaining market share.  Here's a link for reference, though I admit it doesn't make the claim I do, it just gives some numbers...over 500 million and growing at 1.3 million activations per day...

http://www.informationweek.com/hardware/handheld/google-races-toward-1-billion-android-ac/240007197

Market share is great, but the number of devices that can't easily upgrade their version of Android, plus the infinite number of devices with their own hardware specs makes installing apps a crapshoot. If Google Play's app section would stop showing me apps it knows I can't install, I'd be a little happier.

I love my Android tablet and phone, but one runs Android 2.1, the other 2.4, and they're up to 4.1 now. Those devices do everything I need them to, and they were cheap, so it was a fair tradeoff.

This would be so much easier if some Windows phone would become the official sponsor of the Philadelphia Eagles.
