NYTimes obit is titled Richard Jewell, 44, Hero of Atlanta Attack, Dies

the first paragraph

QuoteATLANTA, Aug. 29 — Richard A. Jewell, whose transformation from heroic security guard to Olympic bombing suspect and back again came to symbolize the excesses of law enforcement and the news media, died Wednesday at his home in Woodbury, Ga. He was 44.

That's well-put.  Props to the Times.

The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

James Oliver Rigney, Jr., aka Robert Jordan.

I had read the first three of four of his Wheel of time series but It just never seemed to have an end. Looks like the last book in that series won't happen now.
This post is brought to you by Alcohol!

Cerevant

Actually it will - just not by him.  He's given all the critical information to his wife and cousin so that they can complete the last book.

There were dry spots in the series, but I've enjoyed it none the less.  It is a shame that he won't be able to cross the final t's on such an amazing bit of work.
