Romney is not taking Florida, Munson.

No chance.  Not even with that pipsqueak Marco Rubio whoring for him.

told you odonnell has her shtein together these days

I wish Maher would have expanded his talk with her about the policies Bush had in place which are effecting us now. Instead he cut her off, she was very good although if you watch overtime she gets a little off track. I also wish he'd have asked Schmidt more about Game Change [which he briefly touches on overtime]. I understand the panel is to talk about what's currently happening but he could have segued that topic into one of the conversations.

Simon was great...I doubt there's anyone who knows the media as well as he does.

Here's what baffles me about Mitt: Why is he pandering so hard to the 'base'. Who gives a shtein about the 'base', they're going to vote Republican regardless, if he strayed towards the center like he governed Mass he'd probably win the election due to the Independent vote.

especially now when he doesnt have to...its like hes still trying to win the nomination...he can be beholden to the nut jobs all he wants once he gets in the white house

McCain did the same thing and it cost him big time. That's why I didn't understand the Ryan pick. The base would have voted for Palin if she had been the nominee meaning they don't care who it is running as long as they run on the GOP platform. If they had aimed for the independent vote they'd get their vote and a lot more who are pissed off about the economy. Rubio would have been a great pick for the GOP.

I agree with your opinion about Mahers opening monologue although I thought this weeks was funny.

Munson

QuoteORLANDO, Fla – Now it's President Obama's turn to ask: Where's the birth certificate?

At an unscheduled stop at an Orlando sports bar, Obama came across a football-watching table of five adults and five children.

One of the adult women pointed out a blond boy, Andre Wupperman of Orlando, to Obama and said, "He was born in Hawaii."

Obama and the boy then each made the international sign for "hang loose" with one hand.

Obama then asked Wupperman, who will turn 7 years old next week, the question that was so often asked of him: "You were born in Hawaii? You have a birth certificate?"

The table laughed.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I used to be mostly indifferent to Romney because I'm a centrist on a lot of economic issues and thought that he just didn't give a farg about social issues.  I still don't think he necessarily cares about social issues, but I'm coming around to igy's stance about being terrified about who he's beholden to/listening to and what he's willing to do if given the presidency.  There's no excuse to actually be on stage with Pat farging Robertson.

i dont think hes a horrible person....but all he wants is to be president period...and anything that happens after that is irrelevant....and thats precisely what makes him so terrifying....hes george bush lite....if thats even possible

He's worse than Bush in my opinion. I disliked Bush, he was a bumbling idiot, his policies sucked, but deep down I felt he was a decent person. With Romney I see the greedy, fake, rich guy who like you said could care less about the country he just wants the power of being in office. I made it through every w speech but I couldn't make it through Romney's RNC speech because it was so sappy and phony.

Rome

There's no doubt who cares about people, (rich, poor & in-between) and it ain't Romney.   He's a power hungry piece of garbage who's running to satisfy his own lust for ego gratification.  It's staggering to me that anyone would vote for that weasel at this point in time.  I mean, I could see if you're a holy roller dipshtein or a gazillionaire, but rank & file poor & middle class people should be lining up at their polling places to vote AGAINST what he represents.  Yet they're not.  And that's why this miserable bumblefarg country deserves every ounce of what he represents.
