Small bounce I'd guess.  I've been trading against the VIX recently and been pulling my hair out because the market has been consistently pricing in qe3.  If shtein is really bad, that's good news too because qe3 is coming!   Between qe3 and the European Central Bank, I can't imagine there's much more upside than has already been traded.  I think you get a day or 2 bump with qe3 but the market has probably accounted for most of it at this point.

Another good point. Where I think it will help, though, is with the long-term upward trend. Agreed that it's been priced in already, but without it there is more market uncertainty. This increases the likelihood of a continued upward trend in the markets. Until the fiscal cliff becomes a sure thing, that is. Then all hell will break loose.
