Obama's proposing the same policies that have failed for the last four years... six if you start counting when the Dems took control of the Congress in 06.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

That's not an empty talking point, that's just the facts.  Obama can't run as a candidate of promise anymore.

The Jobs report will be big tomorrow, either way.

Obama has been center-right on foreign policy so far except perhaps in his rhetoric/relationship with Israel.  His social policies have hardly failed as they've mostly just been a continuation of prior social policies.  The ACA hasn't kicked in yet, and his own economic desires to raise taxes are being blocked.  I'm not really sure what superawesome unique policies he's implemented the last four years which have failed.  Part of my disappointment with his presidency is that he hasn't done as much as he should have IMO, not that he's done too much in terms of widespread policy implementation.

yeah as I said up there I'm done. I tried giving him ample opperunity to back up his viewpoints with anything of substance, but it's obviously not going to happen.

blah. half the delegates booed the inclusion of God and Jersualem in the platform, the list goes blah and blah.

I wish it was 100%. Religion has no place in politics. In an interesting debate on PBS last night, the side arguing the world would be better off without religion won.

I haven't watched either convention because I don't really give a shtein at this point (straight Dem down the line).  But what I've seen is a sense of positivity and optimism from the Democrats whereas the Republicans all seem angry and belligerent.  Admittedly I'm biased but there's definitely a huge difference in tone between the two sides.   I honestly think if the Republicans had dialed down the hateful rhetoric (and I mean WAY down) and just went at Obama with respect and civility they might have had a shot, because let's face it, Obama has been a disappointment (minor to most, crushing to others) to almost everyone who voted for him in 2008.   Not enough for me to switch especially to a vulture like Romney, but still...

thats the republican party that karl rove and his henchmen created a long time ago because with shifting demographics and a backwards way of thinking they are slowly dying so they have to resort to this...i havent watched either convention myself because they are both hideous but i dont need to watch infomercials from each party to know the republicans are a bunch of hateful no idea having cavemen

Info I am receiving is the rate shock once ACA is fully implemented is 30-40% for group health insurance and 70-90% for individual.  Much worse if you are young single and male but you might actually come out better if you have a serious medical condition and are elderly.  Of course, the one votes so I guess it is fitting that the policy benefits them.  F the young.  Let's saddle them with no jobs, loads of student debt, and a mountain of national debt that leaves them paying the interest for years with no hope for growth.  Yeah America.

Looks like we'll be seeing some QE3 this month.

Today's unemployment report was disappointing: only 96,000 jobs created last month, and revisions reducing the previous two months by 40,000, it was not only well below expectations but, more importantly, below what the economy needs to do to get people back to work. A lot of people are suffering in this economy, and for each of them, this is bad news.

If Obama gets re-elected and the GOP wins control of the Senate and there is a continued stalemate that allows us to hit the fiscal cliff I might just come in my pants watching the chaos that ensues. Total farging clusterfarg.

It'd be really nice if a jobs bill could get through congress instead of having to rely on the goddamn Fed
