True, but what else do we have that gets groups of people together in some kind of well defined community, like a church does?  Frisbee golf?  I mean, there are other social clubs and they do some good stuff like this too, but if God is an excuse people use to find fellowship with one another and do things to help other people, I'm not spitting on that.

Churches by far do more harm than good.  The frightened little rodents who scurry there would be better off simply donating their time and financial resources to existing charities that actually do provide help without the accompanying repression, division breeding and other assorted scare tactics.

It amazes me that people who don't go to church have such a big problem with people who do. Who cares? Why the farg does anyone care that a religious person wants to donate money every Sunday? And who is anyone to tell a religious person what charity they'd be better off donating their money too? Man, you can tell the people who are for big government Obamastyle. They want to tell everyone what they should be doing, including were to donate charitable contributions. If you don't agree with everything they say or think, then you're a stupid, ignorant bigot.  I could care less what people who go to church think or do. And no, just because a person goes to church doesn't mean that they automatically suck. People who think that are just as racist and bigoted (maybe more so), as the people they hate.

Geez people, live and let live.

People have a problem with religion in general because Christians hide their hate behind the bible and mix politics with religion. Christians don't own marriage and not every one believes in Christ so when politicians and snooty church folks put their noses in the air and tell you you're wrong it rubs people the wrong way. And you can donate money where ever you'd like but once it gets 'filtered' through a church it's no longer a charity in my eyes

YET republicans and the morons who support them want to force every single one of those things down everyone elses throats. their intolerance has to be come our intolerance.

It's not just religious Christians.  It's religious Jews, Christians, Muslims... when one group sets itself up as the true followers of God or whatever, it's a recipe for absolute catastrophe.

Organized religion is absolutely destructive.     If someone has faith in a higher power, that's fine.   I don't share your beliefs, but then again, I'm not insisting you MUST believe what I believe either.  In fact, I don't give a rat's ass what anyone believes.  But when these assclowns start insisting that this is a CHRISTIAN nation, it literally makes my skin crawl.
