I was only mildly disappointed but was surprised we were eliminated on the first vote. The kind of felt like a slap in the face. I guess it's going to take more than a few months to fully repair our image around the world.

There was a lot of that going on yesterday. Evidently the "right" cheers whenever anything Obama tries fails, which is really, you know, patriotic and shtein.

well to be fair, the Olympics are a big money pit for the host city. I can sympathize with fiscal conservatives being happy that Chicago won't be falling down that particular rabbit hole.

of course, this isn't the primary reason these nutbags are happy--they could give a shtein about Chicago, or any American city for that matter: it's that Obama failed of course

but still, I'm glad Chicago didn't get it. Let some other country deal with the expensive headache

i think its an actual good thing that the US lost it.....cause if they get it everyone in the world says it was rigged by the superpower....plus the bowzer type lunatics cant say that the US only got it because the world loves obama

The Olympics are a farce, no doubt. That said, I find it more than curious that the Rush Limbaughs of the world were actually hard on giddy over the U.S. losing out on a bid. Are they so upset that Obama is in the White House that they're actively rooting for him to fail in every respect?

Seriously, I hated Bush and his gang of thugs with a passion but not to the extent that I was hoping whatever course they charted led us to ruin.

It's bizarre to the nth degree, kids.

so the democrative candidate for gov in va referred to a female reporter as "young lady" when answering a question and the gop is making a big deal about it by trying to say that it was a derrogatory comment.
