How have you guys not picked up the point yet? Both sides have schlubs at the bottom using Hitler references. The point is find a Dem as prominent as Rush who has called Bush Hitler, and not in a joking manner (ala Stewart).

In broadcasting there isn't one.  That's like asking to find one person in the US that's more powerful than the President.

All I was trying to point out is that the lowest common denominator uses the reference.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

And in the case of the conservatives, the lowest common denominators happen to be their leaders.

Hitler reference I mean, the leftists did it for 8 years under Bush.

link?

Oh hell, I accused him of plotting to take over the gov't just like Hitler at the end of the 30s.  And I know a lot of people who argued the same.  Joel's point is correct.  Discussion and rational debate is pretty much over.  There is just diametrical hate now, particularly in Congress, and the them v. us is destroying the country.

Look how many Repubs voted against Sotomayor, just because Obama nominated her.  The Dem response?  Rile up hispanic voters against that candidate.  DC is a farging mess right now, and no one in a position to change it gives a farg.

you have about one one trillionth the influence of a rush limbaugh....show me anyone with half of rushs influence who called the republican party nazis during the bush reign...just one

Quoteif those jerkoffs knew why they were protesting it would be one thing...but they are either old people who are being told by the organizing groups that if barrys health care plan gets pushed thru they will die within 48 hrs of its passage...

or they are bitter unemployed white people who blame all their problems on the negro president and are easy recruits for this kind of thing...it isnt that different than the kind of disenfranchised uneducated angry people that a militia group or the kkk would go after and brainwash

Both sides have sheep that follow whatever they are told to do. Farg, the people who are pushing this bill have not even read the whole thing, like the president himself!!  :-D and he's the one on TV pushing it, taking pot shots at the protestors, good Lord man, he is worse then the protestors on this issue.

Typical of Bush/Cheney/Palin sycophants, you lack imagination: there are several other equally pleasant positions which leave my hands free.

Something defiantly needs to be done, but this ain't it. I don't want health care that has the government telling my doctor what he can do for me, how to treat me, or what meds to give me. If I get sick I don't want the government giving me a number and telling me to get in line to be operated on or treated. I don't want the government telling me I can't get a kidney or whatever, because I'm too old. I don't want health care that tells doctors what they can and can't do based on how much money is available. If people have the money or the insurance they should be able to get the best care they can afford. I'm not saying that the current health care situation isn't flawed, because it is. I just think whatever happens that the government shouldn't be in so much control over it.

that sounds a lot like the current healthcare system.  just replace gov't with insurance company.

i don't think anyone is saying that the current proposal is a good one.  just that the current system sucks and is set up in a manner so that it really only benefits the few people who happen to be running it.

universal health care, health care reform, i don't care what you call it.  i don't care who runs it.  but access to quality medical treatment, medicines, facilities, etc is something that anyone fortunate enough to live in this country should have a right to regardless of the size of their paycheck.

hundreds, if not thousands of hard working, middle class families are in a lifetime of debt because they pay money to their health insurance companies every month like they're supposed to and then when someone in the family comes down with a major illness, disease or injury the insurance company turns their back on them and tells them it's not covered by their policy.

do you know how much money insurance companies spend to pay claims agents and lawyers and investigators to find any and every possible way to deny a claim rather than just fork over the money to get the person the treatment they need?  like everyone else in this country, they've become consumed with the bottom line.  and if it's cheaper to fork out a few bucks to a lawyer in order to deny a claim rather than actually do the job that their customer is counting on (which is provide medical treatment), then that's what they are going to do.

the truth is that there are a lot more healthy people in this country than sick.  millions of people pay their insurance company every month and never actually need it.....sans a trip to the family dr because little jimmy has the sniffles.  insurance companies make hundreds of millions of dollars from perfectly healthy people every single year and they still have the audacity to try and keep from properly treating people with legitimate medical needs.

i'm not a fan of the government telling a person how to run their business but in the case of the health care industry, i'll make an exception.  they have been robbing, farging and flat out murdering people in this country for far too long.  so farg them and anyone who supports them.

ice grillin you

for the one billionth time...if you currently have health insurance very little if anything is going to happen to you...this plan is for the people who are getting reamed by their private insurer...cant afford their private insurance or and most importantly dont have health insurance at all

question how this is going to be paid for...that is more than fair....but this hyperbolic reaction that somehow all people over 65 are going to die because of this...or your current doctor is going to be stripped away from you or you will be forced to go to the govt for your care is nothing more than right wing gibberish spewed forth because they are in the pockets of the large insurance companies

You miss my point. Insurance companies are crooks, period. My problem is with the government telling doctors who to treat and how to treat them.

Quotethat sounds a lot like the current healthcare system.  just replace gov't with insurance company.[/b]

No, insurance companies don't have the kind of control the government wants to have in their plan.

I'm not buying that Demo bull crap line. It's called universal for a reason and the only people who will be exempt are congress.
