Small government would totally work in a country with a population of 300,000,000.  Actually, the smaller the better.

Who needs the roads paved, the country protected or the citizenry educated?

The federal government doesn't need to be big to handle those ignored infrastructure needs, but it does need to be willing to dole that money out to the state governments that are supposed to be taking care of those issues anyway.

I'm voting for Obama because a vote for my party's candidate would be a waste of time.  I didn't vote for Kerry last time and I know a lot of independents who couldn't bring themselves to vote for him despite the alternative.

I'm not making the same mistake twice even if I have serious reservations about Obama.  No one, and I mean, NO ONE could be a worse choice than McCain especially with Palin on the ticket.
