Rome

If he has full legislative support and doesn't face the prospect of Republican obstruction in the Congress, then it's not only a possibility; it's a strong probability that his proposals will come to pass.

As someone who makes considerably less than $250K, I'm all for it obviously.

IGY, FF and the rest of the hard core Capitalists, though... not so much.

I'll tell you whats going to happen, when Obama gets elected and screws up with his share the wealth finance plan, he'll do just what he's done in his campaign and turn around to blame everything on Bush.

Obama has to be better than Bush is a conventional belief.  Not really, when "things can't get any worse they unfortunately can/do".  Bush's place in history is "etched in stone" as a disgrace.  Obama may take us to new lows.  Obama's doesn't like the way the Constitution and Bill of Rights were written (he doesn't like the idea that they protect us from the government and they doen't have the governments duty for the people spelled out..healthcare, housing, college education, jobs, etc.), lets see how he does.  Will any of his supporters post here in four years..only the brave.
im pretty sure i've seen what you just wrote in about 10 emails over the past 2 years.

I have nothing to contribute then..Mission Accomplished... 10 X is TOO MUCH

so basically if obama had worded his response to "JOE THE PLUMBER" question differently this socialist crap would never have existed?

so its really the term, not the plan?

i was thinking today that with 6 days to go what other label can the Right throw at Obama?

directly or indirectly the McCain/Palin campaign, his supporters, the GOP, and outright racists have claimed all the following about Obama:

he is a terrorist and/or associates with terrorists, Arab, Muslim but has a crazy anti American Christian priest, socialist, communist, and not even a citizen.

i think the only juicy angle left is to attack his blackness. call into question if he really is black. prove how WHITE his mother is. this will get the black voters to wonder....hmmm.

oh and i dont if it was mentioned but turns out joe the plumber, whos not names joe nor has a plumbing license, believes a vote for Obama means the end of Israel.

it was so stupid even Sheppard Smith of FOX news had to correct him and say "Obama has repeatedly said Israel would remain our greatest ally....I dont know where some of this stuff comes from"

btw Joe also added he will not tell others who to vote for because it is up to them to decide.

What's hilarious is none of us on the "Right" on this board keep resurrecting that stuff.  It always comes from his own supporters.

Magical_Retard

im not implicating you or any of the republicans on this board. outside of bowzer you guys seem to actually know the issues. just sort of posting as a venting session.

what shocks me is the lack of similar intelligent representation of the GOP on TV. they usually bring up some loon (coulter used to be a fav) and just hammer labels about the opposition.

actually thats true for both sides i guess but im more used to seeing it from the Right. and it does have a affect. the ppl at the rallies didnt magically dream up all these outrageous claims about Obama.

right now its a constant spin cycle of SOCIALIST/DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH! like cmon stop acting like children actually understand thats the basis of the progressive tax system. oh and mccain himself is supporting some very "socialist" govt bailouts himself.

but baby steps i guess. first black candidate who has a serious of chance of winning is big enough for election 08. maybe in four years they can have a intelligent coverage movement in the media. but then again Palin the Candidate might be running.

fast freddie doesn't know what day of the week it is let alone "the issues."
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

from his rally today:

QuoteMcCain is "spending these last few days calling me every name in the book," Obama said.o

"I'm sorry to see my opponent sink so low. Lately, he's called me a socialist for wanting to roll back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans so we can finally give tax relief to the middle class. By the end of the week, he'll be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in Kindergarten," he said.

what i dont understand is the neverending focus on his race?  He's 50/50, but people only refer to him as african american?

I'm going to guess that it's Sunday.  But then why am I in the office?  The mystery continues.

50/50 people receive all the prejudices (and benefits, if you want to talk about affirmative action and quotas) that 100% get.  Thus, those that are mixed-race tend to be identified with the most difficult part of their upbringing.

Tiger Woods is actually only 25% black.  Halle Berry is 50% and was raised by her white mother, like Obama.

These are just more examples of why racism, both hate-fueled and reverse, is despicable.  Why do we have to label people based on their heritage?  Is the drive to remain individual based on your cultural roots more vital than eliminating boundaries and exceptions drawn across racial lines?

Barack Obama is an American-American, just like John McCain.
