That is an earth-shattering piece of information that is sure to shed enlightenment on many of the top issues facing this country.

cant have it both ways. cant make fun of edwards constantly for his fruity 400 dollar hair cut and complain how he does not connect with real and then say its nothing for palin to spend 150k when her whole appeal has been down to earth family next door.

it should not really be a issue but the whole mccain campaign has been slogans and catch phrases. this example just proves how out of touch with reality she really is.

All the stuff she bought with Rep Party loot is to be donated to charity for a raffle after the election.  This was decided before it was reported

PS I do believe Biden has an IQ of 146.  Otherwise he would be prison now

I'm sure there are going to be a lot of down-home, hard-working, "real American" folks who are going to want to dish out lots of money for used Palin clothes - Particularly the one worn during her concession speech. I hear that one's going to go for some big bucks.

I also heard that the average plumber earns something like $42,000 a year. So Palins' clothes cost four years worth of a plumber's salary.

I'm sure there'll be a stain or three on the dress within 24 hours of its being bought.

More Republicans jump ship to support Obama.....

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/10/24/obamacans-prominent-republicans-line-up-behind-obama/

The newest one being a McCain ADVISER:

QuoteReagan Appointee and (Recent) McCain Adviser Charles Fried Supports Obama

Charles Fried, a professor at Harvard Law School, has long been one of the most important conservative thinkers in the United States. Under President Reagan, he served, with great distinction, as Solicitor General of the United States. Since then, he has been prominently associated with several Republican leaders and candidates, most recently John McCain, for whom he expressed his enthusiastic support in January.

This week, Fried announced that he has voted for Obama-Biden by absentee ballot. In his letter to Trevor Potter, the General Counsel to the McCain-Palin campaign, he asked that his name be removed from the several campaign-related committees on which he serves. In that letter, he said that chief among the reasons for his decision "is the choice of Sarah Palin at a time of deep national crisis."

Fried is exceptionally thoughtful and principled; his vote for Obama is especially noteworthy.

--Cass. R. Sunstein

UPDATE: Fried writes to TNR: I admire Senator McCain and was glad to help in his campaign, and to be listed as doing so; but when I concluded that I must vote for Obama for the reason stated in my letter, I felt it wrong to appear to be recommending to others a vote that I was not prepared to cast myself. So it was more of an erasure than a public affirmation--although obviously my vote meant that I thought that Obama was preferable to McCain-Palin. I do not consider abstention a proper option.

QuoteThis is completely laughable.

I agree. His complete lack of experience would make him more suitable to run for Vice President (of the United States of America).

If you people think this board is liberal, you're nuts.  Or your definition of liberal is pretty conservative.  Pun for Rome. This place is moderate left at most on balance.  And that's a development over time.  It used to be far more conservative than this.

Maybe :CF is like the country as a whole.  Insofar as 'awful' could be compared, it's a fit.

100% agree on both counts. The only reason people say this board is liberal is because more are voting for Obama. With the exception of Cerevant I highly doubt anyone here agrees with everything he stands for.

I've always considered myself an Independent even though I've always voted Democrat (Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama). When I first joined here I was disillusioned into the Right wing way of thinking, it was hard not to get caught up in it especially after 9/11 and being part of the military. As time went on and it became clear as day we were all lied to I again reminded myself why I've always leaned a bit to the left.
