Alright then, how 'bout I borrow one from Rush Limpballs, and say the drive by media?

MDS

most focus group debate watchers gave it to barry, even without the medias influence and opinion. so the general consensus was that he won.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I watched a replay of it and thought Obama waxed McCain's grizzled ass.  And I also thought that Obama agreeing with McCain on issues they share the same viewpoints on was brilliant.  When was the last time you saw or heard a politician do that?

Change indeed.

You think a man like McCain would stand by and let Americans die by the hand of terrorists, with knowlege of whatever it was that they had planned.

No, I don't.  McCain doesn't need to know anything about it for it to happen.

Maybe it won't be terrorists - maybe it will be an attack on Iran or Pakistan, maybe they will have to declare a national state of emergency to control rioting due to the economic collapse...I just have a sick feeling in my gut about their need to shift the discussion back to national security.

Look at what happened today - dems and repubs both were more interested in winning elections than trying to save the economy.  Personally I think the bail out is a stupid idea, but when the votes fall right down the line of who is up for re-election, it isn't about what is best for the country.  I consider that farging criminal.

Personally I think Nancy Pelosi should be on her way to prison right behind Bush and Cheney.  The only reason those two have not been tried and convicted for crimes against the state and war crimes is because she thought impeachment would hurt the democratic shot at the Presidency.  farging criminal.

I support Obama because he wants to fix the system.  If he's duping me, that's my bad, but I'm not blindly following any party line.  Hell, I spent time defending Ron Paul in this thread.

The country is this >< far from being a facist police state.  How much chaos will it take before Bush declares martial law?  Anyone notice that Bush has effectively made himself immune from legislative or judicial oversight when in a "state of emergency"?  He has been building the infrastructure for executive takeover with his policies and signing statements and fostering of terror.

Definitely a worst case scenario.  I hope I'm wrong.  I really, REALLY hope I'm wrong.  But I have seen nothing from Bush/Cheney/Rove to tell me that this could not happen.

An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Washington Post:

QuoteAnd the worst may be yet to come for Palin; sources say CBS has two more responses on tape that will likely prove embarrassing.

http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/09/tell-her-story.html

QuoteThe Palin aide, after first noting how "infuriating" it was for CBS to purportedly leak word about the gaffe, revealed that it came in response to a question about Supreme Court decisions. After noting Roe vs. Wade, Palin was apparently unable to discuss any major court cases.

There was no verbal fumbling with this particular question as there was with some others, the aide said, but rather silence.

So, do you think a terrorist attack might shift attention to McCain's perceived strength?

Call me paranoid, but I might stay away from tall buildings and international flights for awhile...

QuoteI don't think they would have to organize an attack, but rather just let an attack happen.  McCain could keep his hands clean, and even be able to criticize Bush for how he handles it.

To even bring up the subject of a terrorist attack being beneficial to the Republican campaign shows just how much of a warp minded left wing fanatic you are. Just the thought of it is disgusting and ignorant.

Your trying to cover your ass for a dumbass comment. How could McCain let anything happen without previous knowledge of it?

Thank God your opinion is not that of the majority of your party, on any of the issues.

ice grillin you

im not agreeing with cervent on the terrorist attack thing...but bush has shown he will lie to go to war he will torture he will spy on his own citizens and he has used the terror threat levels to manipulate on more than one occasion

so why would it be so crazy for him to use some sort of national security issue to gain an advantage for the pubs

I'm sorry you misunderstood, but that was my intent.  McCain is not in a position to do (or not do) anything.  If you can't see that he is currently a puppet of his party then you haven't been paying attention.

They = Bush/Cheney/Rove
McCain could not keep his hands clean if he knew anything about it.

Call me loony - as I said I hope I'm wrong - but don't call me a left wing fanatic.  Just because I think Obama is the best choice available to us doesn't mean I support the entire Democratic Party platform (let alone pure socialism).

An Investigation Is Underway After Someone Defaced A Political Sign In Abingdon, Virginia. The sign originally showed the Obama logo and read: "Vote Obama". But the sign's message was much different Friday morning.

The sign's owner, Chris Johnson said he noticed the change as he was taking his 8 year-old stepson to school.

"He looked up and the terror in his eyes, it was just awful," Johnson said.
Investigators with the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff's Department said someone spray painted "KKK Kill Bama" on the sign. Johnson said it was a family project to get his stepson interested in politics.

"If you don't like Obama because he's a black man and you come in the middle of the night and destroy my sign, then you are a coward," Johnson said.
The Washington County, Virginia Sheriff's Department is working to track down the person or people who vandalized the Obama sign.

"There are other ways of expressing your likes or dislikes to the candidates rather than in this manner," said Sheriff Fred Newman, Washington County, Virginia Sheriff's Department.

Since this is considered a threat against a presidential candidate, the Secret Service is involved in the investigation.

"It's just disgusting. I'm a big free speech advocate, but this is not free speech, this is something else, it doesn't belong in our society," Johnson said.

A reward is being offered by the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff's Department for any information that would lead to an arrest in the case. Johnson said he plans to put up another Obama political sign.

To jump back a couple pages, I am amazed at the bump for Obama after the debates as well.  I think McCain had the edge, or at worst (for the right) it was a tie between the two.

What the bump tells me is that the majority of "undecided voters" are Obama supporters who haven't admitted it yet.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

That's what CNN was speculating, but I honestly think that McCain's demeanor turned people off despite how well he did at actually answering questions. It was the biggest turn-off for me anyway.
