Florida has a long tradition of screwing up elections.

Election of 1876

Edit:  On a side note, the compromise that eventually awarded the 1876 election to Rutherford B. Hayes also effectively ended the military occupation of the South, Reconstruction and allowed the reinstated white governments of the southern states pass Jim Crow laws.

So what happens if Hillary pulls off the upset with the super delagates after losing the popular vote for the nomination?

Man, if that happens it makes the Democratic party look like it's telling it's people that their votes dont' matter. Top that off with Carter going to the mideast to meet with Khaled Mashaal, supreme Hamas leader, it makes the whole party look bad, imo.

Friggen' Carter, does he actually think he can talk peace with such a violent anti Israel militant group?? He's a goddamn idiot.

If Obama gets the popular vote and the delegate vote and loses the nomination the democratic party will have effectively destroyed itself. And good riddance. Any party that loses to Bush twice deserves to be thrown into the endless void of space. (Actually the party effectively destroyed itself in 1992, but no one really saw that until recently. Obama has the opportunity to breathe some life into it, but outside of that I think the Democratic party is farging dead ass dead.)

And I wasn't telling everyone to give it up already, I was telling you. Maybe Obama could speak to the bitter dems holding onto the election, instead of the middle america holding onto guns and religion.

The fact that you view something like that in such a stereotypically partisan way is sad. It has nothing to do with republican or democrat, it has to do with the foundation of our democratic system. But you know, your guy won so rah rah cheating!

QuoteBut just because someone voted for Bush doesn't make me want to talk down to them.

My Father voted for Bush in 2000. Even though I did not (Nader), neither of us suspected Bush would be incompetent or criminal. So I agree. Anybody, though, who after four years was scared into voting for Bush in 2004 is godamn moron and IMO deserves to be talked down to. Which is sadly the majority of voters in the country. It's a sad reflection of our culture, education system, and nation. That is, unless you'd prefer to believe the results of the exit polls instead of Dielbold's voting machines.

Cerevant

Votes cast in Florida: 5.8 Million
Margin of victory in Florida: 537
Votes thrown out in Florida: 175,010

Margin of victory: 0.01%
Margin of error: 3%

The independent recounts showed that depending on how you counted the votes, the winner was different.  A margin of victory less than the margin of error - two orders of magnitude less than the margin of error - cannot be allowed in a winner-take-all system.

You can thank Pat Buchanan for the mess that was 2000.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

And the miserable funhole Attorney General from Florida, although her name escapes me at the moment.
Which comes directly from Jeb BUSH, as someone mentioned.

According to wikipedia he sent a letter of apology to Obama.  It's pretty weak..he didn't bother to acknowledge that the term he used is racist and ought to be abandoned by respectful civilized people.

farger did his sleazy little hit job, and without actually saying "you can't trust a stillupfront," reassured his Republican base all the same that the Red states can still count on their republican leadership to hate on and fear the Negros just like they do.

So you can kiss it with the high and mighty down talking. And I am not celebrating his win. Bush to me was a better choice then Gore or Kerry, call me whatever, but it was the least of the two evils for me to vote for him again. The last 8 yrs have been bitter for me. To see a republican president and congress get nothing done, spend like a 10 yr. old at toys r us, and put this country in the situation we are in pisses me off.

Get nothing done?! They've gotten plenty done. They failed to track down Bin Laden. They've started a war based on half-truths ('We need to rid the world of an evil dictator') and flat-out lies ('They have weapons of mass destruction'). They've suspended habeas corpus. They've overseen an economy that is tanking. They were the last 'modern' country on the planet to acknowledge a climate crises. They've spent and spent and spent money that the country doesn't have. And worst of all, they've convinced the American people that all of this was ok by claiming that we are at constant threat of coming under attack from our enemies. They've created a state of fear where the government can do whatever it wants without any chance of being put into check by the people.

Yeah, they've done plenty.

Bush has been a colossal failure as a president unless you're a multi-millionaire or better or you're a religious fundamentalist nutjob.

Also, you left out

made the U.S. military synonymous with torture, transferred massive wealth into military industrial complex (weapons companies, mercenary companies) at the cost of the taxpayer and the strenght of the dollar, handed oil companies the biggest payday imaginable, ruined U.S. reputation worldwide, KILLED 4000+ American troops and maimed tens of thousands more, handed a worldwide stage battleground and recruting bonanza to crazed religious terrorists...
