I don't know if there's a more stark example of "we care way more about acquiring power than we do about helping American people" than announcing your intent to stop any legislative work that would maybe get money into peoples pockets (it was announced yesterday that House Dems and White House were close to a deal), but not stop the hearings that would give you more power in government.

Do I believe that no because the scope of people involved would be crazy including all the doctors but it also wouldn't surprise me.

I started out leaning that way yesterday too but now that I've sobered up a bit I realize it's much more likely that they are just a bunch of idiots. 

but yeah I agree there are many ways they could lie and try to use it to their benefit - either by magically getting better in a few days, postponing debates other embarrassing events etc.  they are just not nearly smart enough to pull anything like that off.
