Hearing shtein like that scares the farging piss out of me. How difficult is it for people to educate themselves just a little bit? We're all farged.

this.

and I was just about to come post the fundraising article too:

What's worse is that they don't even really need to make any effort to connect the dots. All they have to do is be anywhere near a news report.

Reverend Wright = Obama's CHRISTIAN Pastor = Controversial Sermons = Big News Story = Everyone Now Knows That Obama is a Christian

For farg's sake.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Elitist?  Which one is Elitist?

Cindy McCain, "In Arizona The Only Way To Get Around The State Is By Small Private Plane"
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

I'm much more upset that he (and the rest of the so-called democrats) backed the FISA bill.  So much for that constitution thing he makes such a big deal about.

But on a more humorous note...
He's BaaaAAaack

Either McCain or Obama will fail spectacularly if they don't find a way to fix health care costs.

Increase competion in the private sector (congress can allow out of state providers to compete), decrease billing fraud and stop paying for illegals would all help.  Having the government take over would be no change for the "aristocracy" but the rest of us would have to be rationed :fire :fire

For all the scary talk about Social Security it doesn't look like it will be the problem according to that chart...

For those who didn't follow the link, that's from PerotCharts.com.  Yes, that Perot.

The explanation on the web site is that while all entitlements are a problem exacerbated by the impending retirement of the baby boomers, the cost of health care is growing faster than the economy.

Nope.  The problem could be solved tomorrow with malpractice tort reform.  Malpractice insurance is driving doctors out of business.

Yikes, your right.  I forgot about tort reform.  It would be interesting to see some type of graph that would show where your health care dollar went - doctors salaries, malprcatice insurance, insurance company overhead, hospital overhead (breaking out the cost of treating the uninsured), etc.

Page 3 of a rather long article that talks about where the money goes. The article does skew towards arguing for universal health but there are some good statistics buried in the there.

Quote
By any measure, the United States spends an enormous amount of money on health care. Here are a few of those measures. In 2006, U.S. health care spending exceeded 16 percent of the nation's GDP. To put U.S. spending into perspective: the United States spent 15.3 percent of GDP on health care in 2004, while Canada spent 9.9 percent, France 10.7 percent, Germany 10.9 percent, Sweden 9.1 percent, and the United Kingdom 8.7 percent. Or consider per capita spending: the United States spent $6,037 per person in 2004, compared to Canada at $3,161, France at $3,191, Germany at $3,169, and the U.K. at $2,560.

Connecting the dots: the us could spend twice as much on universal healthcare as any other developed nation and still not spend a penny more than they spend today.  What's wrong with this picture?
