Seriously. The miniscule amount spent on an abortion pales in comparison to the amount spent on supporting the life of an unwanted child who is statistically way more likely to end up in jail costing us even more money.

As logical as this is, I'm still not really in favor of tax dollars being used to fund abortion even if it is just a penny on the dollar.  Maybe I'm being too considerate of other people's feelings on this one, but abortion is an issue that I don't think the gov't should have any business being involved in other than keeping it a legal practice and protected choice option.  Just trying to see things from the other perspective because if I were anti-abortion, I'd be absolutely outraged if any portion of my tax dollars (no matter how small) were being used to fund it.

Whatever, I'm not the morality police. Maybe people don't want the government spending $1.5 of every $1 of tax revenue on wars and policing the rest world, but that isn't how it works. As a society we agree to pay taxes and we elect people to make decisions about how that money is spent. If we don't like it we elect new people, but we don't get to pick and choose where our tax money goes. It's self-indulgent to argue that 'I don't want 1/100th of one cent of my tax dollars to go towards abortion' when we're running up massive debts to fund our efforts to bomb the shtein out of half the middle east.

We don't have a-la-carte taxes. Taxes go to the common good, this isn't a farging lunch buffet.

This pretty much directly echoes my stance.  I can't pick and choose where my tax dollars are spent.  I'd prefer if my money wasn't being funded to invade Iraq and cause the death of American soldiers and Iraqi civilians either, but I don't get to make some statement that I only want my money to go to libraries and roads.  And I'm fairly certain a larger % of what the gov't has taken from me has gone towards war than abortions.

Can't we support Israel's right to exist without being such saber-rattling douchebag blowhards about it? Why is nuance such a foreign farging concept in this country?
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

It's a question of statehood.

Seabiscuit36

The state was setup by the British who suck ass at setting up satellite states historically.  Go figure they farged that up.

When the leader of a foreign country with overt nuclear ambitions all but guarantees to turn your country into a glass top coffee table, nuance pretty much gets the cold shoulder.

no country is ever going to use nuclear weapons...and certainly not against isreal....of course we have to believe they will so we have an excuse to go to war with iran

You're right.... there's no chance of a "dirty bomb" ever being used by terrorists, supplied by a country like Iran who wants Israel wiped off the map.

Remarkable comments considering (1) nukes have already been used by us, and (2) no weapon ever invented in the history of war up until the past 50 years or so has ever NOT been used.

If it's not nukes it will be bio or chem weapons.  History, sadly enough, virtually guarantees as much.

The question is will we have the resolve not to go balls out on whatever country ever decides to go loony on us?  Say for shteins and giggles China decides to invade Taiwan.  Or what if North Korean roars past the 38th parallel and occupies South Korea.  What will our reaction be?  At what point will the tipping point be reached where someone in power decides, farg it, that's it, no more, and starts lobbing nukes?   Do you honestly think that's not going to happen?  Really?

For the sake of my family and especially my child, I hope it doesn't, but human history isn't exactly a blueprint for restraint.

ice grillin you

anything is possible but its about 1 million on the list of things to worry about in life...however isreal truly never will be attacked with nukes because everyone in the middle east knows including and especially iran that they would be obliterated were it ever to happen...nukes are the ultimate deterrant to nukes ever being used....its just not going to happen
