Having never been in the situation those Marines were in makes it difficult for me to understand their mindset or why they did what they did.

However, and I'll probably get slammed for this...

The people (and I use that term loosely) they're pissing on most likely were responsible for the death of untold numbers of civilians not to mention U.S. military personnel attempting to protect those same innocent civilians, so forgive me if I don't weep over their corpses being defiled.  They probably deserved it and a whole lot worse.

I will agree with IGY that taping it alone should put them in the pen for at least a decade.

Those other guys are fighting for their 'cause' just as much as we are. I don't want any of our guys to ever get killed, and agreed, we're not in their shoes...but this is the farging U.S. Marine Corps....isn't the bar supposedly raised? Taking someone's life is the ultimate win in war. These fargtards in the U.S. armed forces that do this don't realize they become the same as the animals that do the same to our guys.

I'm never going to be confused with a guy who's been in a foxhole and lived to tell about it...but it just goes to show how many iceholes there are out there fighting for us. It's easy as a civilian waking up late in my bed with breakfast in the fridge, and a piece of ass and my disposal to critique...just wish that the programing these guys go through went so far as to programing them to avoiding defiling a corpse. Their cause is religious fundamentalist slavery and ours (supposedly) is freedom from such tyranny.   Their cause, in short, needs to be snuffed out of human existence.   And allow me to remind you that we do everything we can to avoid civilian casualties while they do everything in their power to ensure them.  Equating us with them in any way is retarded, Chuggie.

And I'm not suggesting that what those Marines did was acceptable.  It wasn't.  It was reprehensible.  I was just saying I sort of understand the impulse.

Chuggie is spot on.  Why do so many of us (Americans) always point to the rest of the world and attempt to model our behavior after theirs?  I have a co-worker who posted about this on facebook today and literally used the phrase "They started it."  Are we a bunch of god damned 3 year olds? 

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as the Warrior's Creed and there are standards and ethics that "should" be practiced on the battlefield.  Aside from killing and raping women and children, desecrating the body of a dead soldier is about the most despicable thing you can do.  Our country is supposed be "the standard" that the rest of the world looks up to.  Of course, that isn't really the case, not when you consider where our education system ranks with the rest of the world.....but damn if we still don't think we're the shtein.  Perhaps we would be if we started acting like it and stopped pissing on dead soldiers.

Couldn't agree with you more. These ideals go back to ancient times. Achilles dragging Hectors lifeless body in front of Troy was an ultimate sign of disrespect. We were outraged when an American soldier was dragged through the streets of Somalia.

Not to you but how about your family? If I was killed in war maybe I don't give a farg if someone defecates in my mouth but I'm sure it would be hurtful to my family. Adding insult to injury or death in this matter is gutless. What's the point? They're dead and can't feel a thing, now you're just piling on the anguish to their loved ones. As horrible as a human being as Osama Bin Laden was he still received a proper burial.
