This is not a campaign tour. Although the buses could be used in the upcoming campaign of both the democratic and republican canidate, this is an official event, paid for by you and I, the taxpayer.

I have no problem with the expenditure.  I don't think any reasonable person could.  This is chump change.  The object is to protect the President, whoever he or she is.  Complaint about this is a conservative talking point by definition at this time.  I get so tired about these faux outrages.  It may eventually destroy a democracy but large scale ignorance works great for marketers and demagogues in the meantime.

No, how many times did I post that it's not about the money as much as it is that he preaches one thing and does another? Theres just no debating with some people, they see what they want to see and thats it.

I don't care who the pres is, 2.2 mil for a couple of buses is chump change and is a terrible example of runaway gov't spending.  A buddy of mine just got back from Afghanistan a month or so ago.  While he was there, nearly 1mil was spent to build a parking lot that is quite literally in the middle of no where.  The parking lot was finished but the rest of the project was scrapped.  So now there is a giant parking lot in the middle of Afghanistan doing absolutely nothing but collecting dust.  And there's probably a dozen more around the country just like it. 

The good news is that 10 years from now, Wal Mart will have a place to start building. 

You want to cut gov't spending, start with the contractors and all the ridiculous projects that they are able to get funding approval for but never finish and aren't held accountable for failing to deliver.  That alone will be hundreds of billions. 

When there are multiple ways of transportation that he has at his disposal, I just don't see it as "chump change". Again, he preaches how we all need to change our lives and habits to save energy and money while he fails to live by the same guidelines. This is just another example of many since he's been in office.

I've said multiple times that the money being spent overseas could be much better spent here at home. Obama allows that to go on while telling us we need to change the way we live. It's hypocrisy at a giant scale, and most all of government is to be held accountable.

He's said he wants to see Americans driving American made hybrid cars, and he wants to see American made cars exported overseas, but yet he signs a referandum for two tricked out luxury gas guzzling motorcoaches designed and built in Canada. Your anger and outrage over this is comical. I'm more pissed at Obama for not pushing for a public option, not pushing for an overhaul of the taxcode, etc...not where his bulletproof buses were made and how little they cost. Oil companies get something like 3 billion in tax payer money a year....and you're upset about 2.2 million dollars worth of protecting the president?
