The President should probably drive a Ford Escort.

He should hitchhike. That's totally a safe thing for anyone to do, but especially the President.

See the new buses for Obama? 1.1 mil a piece. And after he's done riding on them and hops his jet, do the buses ride to his next destination? Oh no! The buses are transported by C-130's.

This kinda' stuff is just crazy.

ummmm no a few million bucks is not crazy....in terms of the overall budget its like me sneaking one bud out of your 30 pack

QuoteFriend --

I've set aside time for four supporters like you to join me for dinner.

Most campaigns fill their dinner guest lists primarily with Washington lobbyists and special interests.

We didn't get here doing that, and we're not going to start now. We're running a different kind of campaign. We don't take money from Washington lobbyists or special-interest PACs -- we never have, and we never will.

We rely on everyday Americans giving whatever they can afford -- and I want to spend time with a few of you.

So if you make a donation today, you'll be automatically entered for a chance to be one of them. Please donate $5 or more today:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Dinner-with-Barack

We'll pay for your flight and the dinner -- all you need to bring is your story and your ideas about how we can continue to make this a better country for all Americans.

I always look forward to meeting supporters like you -- and this will be the kind of casual meal among friends that I don't get to have as often as I'd like anymore, so I hope you'll consider joining me.

But I'm not asking you to donate today just for a chance to meet me. I'm asking you to help us build this campaign if you believe in the kind of politics that gives people like you a seat at the table -- whether it's at the dinner table with me or the table where decisions are made about what kind of country we want to be.

It starts with a gift of whatever you can afford.

Please make a donation of $5 today, and we'll throw your name in the hat:

https://donate.barackobama.com/Dinner-with-Barack

I've said before that I want people like you to shape this campaign from the very beginning -- this is a chance for four people to share their ideas directly with me.

Hope to see you soon,

Barack

Five bucks is a good deal...you'd be a sucker not to do it.

$1.1 million sounds fairly reasonable to me. The things gotta be able to take an RPG and not even wake Barack from his afternoon nap. Can't even imagine how tricked out the electronics are, and it's safe to assume there's an upgrade from the Greyhound tiny chemical lavatory in the back, fit to receive the executive dump.

With Bush, the more vacation he took the better it was for the country. I would have spotted him the first half of his term.

SD

$1.1 million to protect the POTUS is very reasonable. Of course the right is acting like he's taking it with him when he leaves office.

Munson

That was addressed in stewarts clip about buffett/taxes. Showing clips of fox freaking out over the 1.1 million dollar bus but then treating 700 billion in tax revenue like its nothing :-D

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

there are 100000000000x things to complain about with barry, but how he gets to point A to point B is not one of them

get off hannitys dick you old creepy alcoholic racist

As usual, your ingnorant juvenile little self misses the point. He preaches we should stop driving gas guzzeling SUV's and he's out there telling everyone we need to export automobiles and goods while buying goods made in the United States while he's driving around in millions of dollars worth of fuel drinking motorcoach that was manufactured in Canada! And NO, I don't listen to Hannity, Limbaugh, CNN or Fox, only news I watch is channel 11 in the morning. But, as usual when you say something critical about the Chosen Superstar in CF land, the sheeple can't wait to slap a label on you.

Ha! You can tell were you come from with that quote. A government worker with a overpaying job. Well done! It's exactly that line of thinking thats made the United States the country of government waste and elitist haves and the have nots. Why can't he ride in the brand new fleet of limo's that were bought when he came into office? He's not riding in the buses from town to town anyway, he's hopping his jet. A flying hotel. The buses are being transported by C-130, no reason the limo's couldn't have been either. There was absolutly no need for these motorcoaches. Face it sheeple, he's an elitist farg who wants you to do what he says while he does whatever the farg he wants.

And NO, I bitched about Bush and his vaca's as much as anyone, he was an Oil Baron pos. But keep making crap up while you defend the Chosen Superstar. You do it so well.

Uhh...it's 2.2 mil for 2 buses. Don't know why, he can't ride on but one at a time anyway, but I guess it's to confuse the middle american redneck arian brotherhood racist fanatics out there that want to put his head on a spit. After all, thats the only kind of people that live out west anyway, right?

And again, it's not so much the money but the elitist hypocritcal crap he spews about buying American, saving fuel, and exporting goods while riding in a fuel drinking motorcoach manufactured in Cananda that will be used the one time when there are plenty of other ways to get around at his disposal. But don't pay attention to the facts, just look through that tunnel seeing me on the right and you on the left so theres no way that I could be making any sense.

And please, can we just forget Bush? Why is it that when someone says something even half critical about the Chosen Superstar that the sheeple in the Obama flock have to bring him up? He's been out of office for three years and he wasn't my canidate anyway, so stfu already. It's like a school kid saying, but Johnny did too!! He did worse!! Whaaaafarginwhaaa! For christsakes, find some new farging material. It's old.

he would only be safe doing it in the deep south.. where they have that whole southern hospitality thing.

re: the bus...

I don't think you can get one made in the U.S.A.
If you have a beef, it's with the Secret Service, not the President.
I heard that the Secret Service will provide one for the Republican presidential nominee as well.  True?  Sounds fishy to me, but I don't pay attention to this crap.

This is not a campaign tour. Although the buses could be used in the upcoming campaign of both the democratic and republican canidate, this is an official event, paid for by you and I, the taxpayer.

General_Failure

The President's security should always be paid for out of his own pocket. I think that's what you're getting at.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Sgt PSN

I don't care who the pres is, 2.2 mil for a couple of buses is chump change and is a terrible example of runaway gov't spending.  A buddy of mine just got back from Afghanistan a month or so ago.  While he was there, nearly 1mil was spent to build a parking lot that is quite literally in the middle of no where.  The parking lot was finished but the rest of the project was scrapped.  So now there is a giant parking lot in the middle of Afghanistan doing absolutely nothing but collecting dust.  And there's probably a dozen more around the country just like it.

The good news is that 10 years from now, Wal Mart will have a place to start building.

You want to cut gov't spending, start with the contractors and all the ridiculous projects that they are able to get funding approval for but never finish and aren't held accountable for failing to deliver.  That alone will be hundreds of billions.
