Not sure how this leftist circle jerk can continue given the underwhelming performance of Barry...

The end.

Underwhelming. While I agree with that assessment it's such a massive improvement over the out and out criminal behavior and incompetence of the last administration that the difference is hard to put into words.

You haven't given Barry enough time yet... just be patient.

The thing is that the most likely scenario is that the longer we wait the better Obama's spend policies are going to look. The economy will rebound and long-neglected programs will be kick-started. There will be national debt associated with it, but when jobs start coming back no one will give a shtein about that.

The debt will have to be dealt with eventually, but Clinton dealt with Reagan's debt, someone will deal with Obama's too.

Well, considering the cyclical nature of the economy, it's bound to rebound at some point.  Spending massive amounts of tax payers' dollars on ridiculous pork barrel projects isn't going to be catalyst.

I'm not saying it is. What I'm saying is that in three years, after the economy has recovered (for reasons that people will argue over to no conclusion), the country will be glad that bridges and dams have been (or are being) worked on. They will be glad that their schools are being rebuilt. Hopefully they'll have a better-functioning healthcare system and all of this partisan wrangling will have been for nothing because the pet projects that have been put in place were designed to make our lives better. You can argue their effectiveness, but you can't deny that the programs being put in place are designed to make life better for people. They cost money, and that's important to remember, but once the economy is healthy, abstract notions like government debt tend to lose their focus.

Only when the lesson plan includes questions like "What can you do to help Obama achieve his goals?"

Amazing they haven't released the text of that speech yet... must be going through quite the re-write.

Well I was referring to sane people, but you're right, those people probably won't be happy. They'll be in church though which means I'll never run into any of them. Which is lucky for me.

Meanwhile, Reagan gave a speech to students about the evils of taxes which is 100% a policy driven topic. So one president asks a hypothetical question to help students feel empowered and motivated and the other gives a policy speech, but somehow the Obama speech is inappropriate? Hypocritical. Partisan. Bullshtein.

Kennedy asked all Americans to pitch in, too. Damn hippy liberal flags.

As far as I know, Presidents have been addressing the country young and old for as long as there have been Presidents. But you know, Obama is trying to ruin the US of A. Jesus, I'm getting all angry again.

And I'm sure liberals bitched back then too.  Just like liberals bitched about the Patriot Act and Bush violating all their rights, but have no problem with the bill being passed that would give the president central authority over the internet in the case of a  cyber attack.
