Cheney was right about the economic crisis, though.  So many yahoos are blaming the last administration for our economic woes, and that is patently absurd.  Chris Dodd and Barney Frank had more to do with this than Bush and Cheney.  Now, if you want to talk about government fiscal responsibility or foreign affairs, I get heated remembering that I pulled the lever for Bush/Cheney in 2004.  But the economic crisis is an issue with roots well outside of Bush, Cheney, and even that dickhead Paulsen.

Still, it's no secret to anyone who was really pulling the strings in the White House over the last 8 years.

It's really not that funny.

Let me guess... You blame the "deregulation" enacted by Bush and Cheney instead of the "everyone deserves the right to buy a house" garbage from the left?

Uh, blaming only one or the other (or only both) is laughable. There were a million things that led us to this point. Deregulation and overly accessible housing loans are among them.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

i blame the culture of greed that has been spawned in america over the last 30 years (since reagan)...20 of which were pub administrations...including the last eight...to blame two democratic senators more than the bush administration is absurd

the full blame belongs as rjs said in a million different places...

but much more blame belongs to the big business greedy trickle down economics de regulation anti worker anti union policies of  the republican party than anywhere else

So, it's the Republicans fault for making otherwise great Democrats in the congress force loans to people who were highly unlikely to pay them back?

rjs246

Mindless partisan bickering.

Actually, the make money at all costs culture is as old as America. Read 'A People's History of the United States' and you'll see exactly how this country was founded on greed and has thrived on greed (with occasional depressions and LOTS of hideous oppression thanks to greed).

Greed can be and should be kept in check because it is one of the most direct paths to evil when left to its own directions, but greed is at the heart of every part of this country's history.

Speaking of...

This, not to mention over the past 5 years everyone in the country knew shtein was gonna go bad. Bush/Cheney should have stepped up to the plate and been proactive instead of sitting on their hands and sending more troops to Iraq. The mess is not their fault, it's their fault they were in a position to do something before it got this ugly but chose not to.

PoopyfaceMcGee

They tried to reign in Fannie and Freddie and were shot down - FYI

and I'm sure it was at the top of their agenda

PoopyfaceMcGee

And ending the war that was on the top of their agenda is obviously not anywhere near the top of Obama's agenda.

So, what's your point?  As IGY even agrees, blame should be spread out over a million different places.  Whether you are a "righty" or a "lefty" or a professed centrist, my point still stands as correct:  Primarily blaming Bush and Cheney for the economic crisis is borderline retarded.
