Back to Byrd:  here is another excellent example of a Bush precedent that Republicans defended ad nauseum and Democrats railed against.  Did the Republicans really think there would never be a Democrat in power again, leaving them to rue the day they cheered on the Executive branch power grab?  Or maybe they still support it, even though it's not their guy in power right now, based on ideological principles that executive authority should be ever greater?

Kudos to Byrd for continuing his attack on the expansion of secretive authoritarian Executive branch maneuvers.
