Joseph Addai is a pretty damn good running back and the Eagles held him to single digit touchdowns last week, so I'm not that worried about the Panthers ground game.

= funny
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

If the Eagles lose tonight:  move up to the #12 pick

If the Eagles win tonight:  #6 seed and drop to the #18 pick

hmm  :-\

It'll be clear after the Panthers run for 250+ yards on the Eagles tonight.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

I need a 12 reception, 150 yard, 3 touchdown game from Steve Smith to win...

Normally, I'd think I'd have no shot in the hell... but against this Eagles team.... you never know.

From an analysis that I read on Football Outsiders the #18 pick is in the optimum range for a team. High draft picks (those in the first 10) are actually less beneficial for teams on a average basis, due to the fact that there is so much guarunteed money tied up in a such a hit-or-miss event like the draft. Lower first round picks actually provide more value per dollar spent. Of course there are times when the high-risk high-reward works out (see Merriman, Shawn) but these are outwieghed by busts. It's one of the reasons why sometimes teams that do well and have low draft picks continue to do well and why teams that consistently draft high never seem to get out of the bottom. A few bad picks (see Millen, Matt) and your team is financially hostage to those guys for years.

i actually feel better about the eagles winning this game than i have for the last several weeks.

After watching them lose to the Bucs and the Titans I will never feel good about them leading up to a game ever again. EVER!

Well... give yourself a little time to sober up and think about it again.

You know damn right well that the Eagles are going to do EVERYTHING they can to stop the run.  If that means putting eight men in the box, then so be it.

Considering the Eagles pass rush amounts to nothing more than gnats smashing against a car windshield these days, someone is going to be open and although Delhomo isn't much, his main weapon certainly is.

It's gonna be a bloodbath, dude.  Bad.

Hmm, so you're rollin with the Eagles then, eh? :D

I want them to win.  I just forsee doom and destruction tonight, that's all.

Kinda like Seattle last year.  Remember that fiasco?   :'(

No. I choose not to remember.  :-X

What are two teams to win games against better teams by virtue of a time-running-out 60+ yard field goal, Alex?

What's scary is if the defense shows up at ALL, and they can beat the Panthers.....3 out of the last 4 games are winnable (taterskins, Giants, Falcons).....If this team somehow sneaks into the playoffs, it'll be a disgrace. But then again, looks like any one of the teams that ends up the 6th seed should have no business even thinking playoffs.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
