I don't think Reid is going to be canned because they've invested too much in him both from a financial standpoint and a public relations perspective to show him the door now but Lurie has to be wondering wtf is going on with the team just as we are.

Plus firing Reid would mean that Lurie would have to admit to screwing up.

I wonder what another team would give for Reid? Hell, Tampa gave up two first round picks for Gruden.

Rome

If I remember correctly, he admitted hiring Ray Rhodes was a mistake after he canned him.

I think the rich millionaire prick playbook only allows one act of contrition per lifetime, so we're stuck with Reid forever now.

Woot!

I think that the NFL set rules as far as draft pick compensation for coaches. I could be wrong but I thought I read something about that. I'll have to look it up.

Reid is signed through 2011. If he's fired that is a lot of money Lurie would have to eat. No shot on that, I'd guess

the only prayer of reid not coaching is if he were to step down and be a full time gm...or just quit take off a year then come back and coach somewhere else...hes clearly not gonna be fired

Yeah, I seem to be remembering something about it. In fact, I think the Gruden thing precipitated it.

Maybe somebody will offer to keep Christina (Owner of the Philadelphia Eagles) satisfied in the bedroom. That would be compensation enough for Jeff.

Not really.  The Eagles would only have to pay the difference between what he gets from his next coaching job and his current contract.  AR would get another job pretty quick...possibly Oakland.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

I think it did too. But when Herm went to KC the Jets got a 4th rounder. So maybe it was that teams could not trade away #1 picks.

BB,

That's assuming that Andy would go to OAK. I doubt he would. No one is going to go there unless they have a past with Al Davis. No one wants to work for him. If they were going to fire him they'd likely meet with him to negotiate a buyout. But this is all moot. This isn't going to happen. And I don't think it should. Not yet at least.

Remove the "final say" from him and give it to Heckert. That would effectively lessen his load a bit and allow him to only coach. Then have him make changes on his staff. Fire a few coaches and let the "new" GM do his thing.

I can't see Capt mormon-guy going to outlaw Oakland. That would be like Bill Laimbeer coaching a WNBA team. Yeah right...

Hows the current coach of BYU doing?  Reid would love being king Mormon and he's been exposed in the NFL...

Bronco Mendenhall has turned them around. They're 21 and 23 in the polls.
