Buddy of mine quit his job recently to go into business for himself. Someone got him a bottle of Johnnie Walker Gold 18 year scotch. I normally don't like whiskey at all but this wasn't too bad. I was surprised as I normally can't stand whiskey drinks.

ok so i read an article in bon appetite (yes i read bon appetite bite me) about presidente beer and how its a "sweet and light lagar perfect for drinking on your deck in the summer"...so i just brought home a warm 12 pack two of which are currently chillin up in my ice maker

two questions:

1. what is a sweet beer and how is beer ever sweet
2. anyone had this and if so whats it like

i'm wearing a presidente t-shirt right now. i drank shteinloads of it in the dominican republic. i remember it being very similar to miller lite. a pretty tasteless beer that you can drink a lot of.

never had it. a lot of beer i would consider sweet. maltose is the sugar that is fermented by yeast to produce alcohol in beer. so considering beer to be sweet is not strange by any means. it just means your mind doesn't work right. i suggest suicide

ive tried and failed many times to drink myself to death

and presidente is pretty good...i actually can see how it would be a great outdoior summer beer much like high life...good stuff (for beer)...only problem is its 12.50 a 12 pack

beer gets a hell of a lot more costly than 12.50 for a 12 pack..you're cruising the lower end of the price range there. bud is 11 bucks for a twelve pack, and that's about as low as I'll go..

There's a market up the street from the house that sells high end shtein of all kinds including beer and wine. $10-15 per six-pack is the norm and there are beers in there that I've never come close to hearing of. All sorts of microbrews from around the country, and, of course, from Europe, Asia & even South America.
