A few things:

1. People are going to blame this loss on the final drive with McNabb. it had ZEROOOO to do with this game. ZERO.

The sacks he took after sitting in the pocket for 30 seconds had something to do with it.

Considine:

"Its not just one thing. Every guy on the roster has to look himself in the eye and get it done. And we are not doing thigs to win football games now."

"We need to ask ourselves why we are not getting it done."

Cut to McNabb;

We weren't going to move the ball anyway. That was 50/50 on McNabb. No one got open. Overall that had nothing to do with the loss. This team couldn't move the ball regardless. So even if he threw it away, we just punt anyway.

McNabb:

"For us to come out and not move the football, I never envisioned that"

"This was embarrassing"

"We did not start fast. This was embarrassing. This will not happen again"

Q: How do you know it won't happen again?

"I will make sure of it".

Things need to start at the top and filter down. McNabb's never been consistent on a regular basis, but he's a far better QB then he showed today. However Reid's shown that he can't coach worth a damn when a team comes out and takes it to him. He can't adjust and refuses to change anything and says the same shtein year after year.

I was absolutely not surprised at ALL to see the team go 3 and out on a continual basis to start this game. In fact I fully expected it because Reid doesn't know how to set up a decent game plan. The largest O-line in the league and he barely runs the ball. And he started out running on 3rd and ridiculously long after trying to pass the first couple of plays of the series. It makes no sense.

The Jags two best d-line men are out leaving the middle weaker than normal and he's calling passes all freakin' day. They go down by a touchdown at the start of the game and go pass crazy.

When they finally have some success running the ball and start picking up yards, what does Ried do? After a few positive gains he starts wanting to wing the ball all over the field again. He's just not a good coach at this point because he can't adjust to the on the field situations.

He could have run the farging ball.  That would have moved the ball.  Especially since it's 4th and 5 in JAX territory.  If nothing's there... RUN!  David farging Garrard understood that, McNabb should have at some point, himself.

Then look to run.  McNabb has crossed that gray area.  He's so afraid to being labled an "athletic black quarterback" that he's nearly become one dimensional.

I was willing to blame it on the injury last year, but it's really been little different this year.  McNabb wants to be Dan Marino, and he just isn't.  He needs to be Donovan McNabb.

Oh, and get some FREAKING RECEIVERS THAT CAN CATCH THE DAMN BALL!  :boom

McNabb:

Q: How do you know it won't happen again?

"I will make sure of it".

Good answer. ::) How about throwing the football away or *gasp* running instead of standing back there for 20 seconds and running backwards and getting sacked.

PhillyPhreak54

Q: When you say you will not let this happen, what will you do?

"I just won't let it happen again."

3 farging L's in a row for the 1st time in 10 years.

1999 was fewer than 10 years ago.

Just sayin'

He did run. Not as much as he should, but cmon. The WRs still need to get open. You can't let them off the hook. If they got open he wouldn't have needed to run. I agree, McNabb didn't play well. But we didn't lose because of him. In a long list of reasons why we lost, he is near the bottom. The coaching staff tops the list. Terribly coached and terribly prepared.

There are no good answers today.  There are no answers, period.

They have two weeks to get ready for Washington.  They'd better damn well be ready.

The man. The myth. The legend.

When McNabb was sacked, there really wasn't anywhere TO run. He should have thrown the ball away.

He ran when he saw openings. To slam him for not running more and calling him one-dimensional is retarded.
