However, if he is healthy, this could be a very good pickup.

He sucks... seriously. Maybe he'll be ok as a nickle but he sucked on the Giants.

If you say so... they got rid of the "Wills" for a reason, otherwise he'd still be on the team.

PhillyPhreak54

They dumped him due to injury. Allen was the suckier of the two. Either way he's the dime back.

And this team has bigger problems.

QuoteEagles Notes | Birds planning to bolster pass coverage

At least one change will be made on the Eagles' roster today after their listless 13-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, which sent them into the bye week with a three-game losing streak and a 4-4 record.

A league source confirmed last night that the Eagles plan to sign former New York Giants cornerback Will Peterson if he passes a physical today at the NovaCare Complex.

The move comes at a curious time because cornerback Rod Hood, a mainstay as the team's nickel cornerback for the last three seasons, returned from a foot injury yesterday. The Eagles' biggest problem on defense the last two weeks has been stopping the run, not the passing game.

"I guess they threw for a lot of yards today and I guess they threw for a lot of yards last week, so maybe we do need another corner," cornerback Sheldon Brown said, noting his own sarcastic tone afterward. "They're always looking for good football players. We have a great cornerback in Rod Hood who's [an unrestricted free agent] after the year. We don't know what's going to happen with that situation. If they feel we need better corners, then we have to do that."

The Eagles surrendered just 85 passing yards to Tampa Bay last week and just 76 passing yards to the Jaguars yesterday. Both teams, however, played with backup quarterbacks and relied heavily on the run. Before the game against Tampa Bay, the Eagles had struggled in defending the pass.

Hood figured to help the pass defense after missing four straight games with heel spurs and a strained right heel. The fourth-year veteran returned yesterday, but he did not play a single defensive down as Joselio Hanson continued to be the cover man when the Eagles used three cornerbacks.

Brown said he thinks the Eagles' coaches were just being cautious with Hood.

"It was their call," Hood said. "I didn't expect it. I thought I was going to play a little bit. They call the shots."

Hood said he is not worried about the addition of Peterson.

"Whatever they do is what they do," he said. "It doesn't bother me. I'm going to keep doing my thing, and if they want me to play, I'll play. If they don't, then I won't... . I did play on special teams. I was on punt and punt return. It was a little weird I didn't play. I'm just waiting for them to call my number. I was ready."

Peterson, 27, was the Giants' third-round pick in 2001 and spent five seasons with the team. His 2005 season ended after just two games because of a back injury and the Giants released him in May. Peterson had five interceptions and started 37 games in New York.

Yo Sheldon...shut the farg up. Another example of this team thinking their shtein don't stink. Just like when all the secondary pals were pissed because Mike Lewis was benched.

SHUT UP AND PLAY FOOTBALL.

Exactly.  Hood is gone anyway at the end of the year and the Eagles have just found their contingency plan.

Or they could be bringing in Will Peterson to destroy Hood's market value and possibly try and retain him for a lower price. Stating that, "well, you only played in X amount of games, you had a nagging injury all year, and you split time with Will Peterson, do you really think you can command that much dough?"

We'll see, though. Rod Hood should be playing. I was surprised on how much I saw Hanson on the field yesterday.
