A guy on PhilaPhans (BleedinGreen) brought this up;

Quote2000: 4-3 (W,L,L,W,W,L,W) 10-6
2001: 4-3 (L,W,W,L,W,L,W) 11-5
2002: 5-2 (L,W,W,W,L,W,W) 12-4
2003: 4-3 (L,L,W,W,L,W,W) 12-4
2004: 7-0 13-3
2005: 4-3 (L,W,W,W,L,W,L) 6-10 - I wont go in to this.
2006: 4-3 (W,L,W,W,W,L,L) ??-??

Makes me feel somewhat better. I know the whole "but look at who they have to play" thing will be brought up. And that's fine. But to those I point to the 2002 portion of the schedule where evryone feared the Eagles having to play the 49ers on MNF, STL [2001 NFCCG re-match) at home, fly back to the West Coast to play SEA. We all thought that was a brutal stretch. It turned out to be easier than anticipated. And that was when McNabb was lost.

Now - this team is still flawed. They're farging stupid. But the stupid shtein can be fixed. Will it? That's the question. It's not like this squad is flat out getting whupped. They are making mental mistakes for the most part that is costing them. Clean up the bullshtein and let's see what happens. And I have to think, or else I lose hope, that this coaching staff and players can and will clean that horseshtein up.

Oct 29th - JACKSONVILLE - The Jags are a Jekyl & Hyde team as well. They get beat by the taterskins and Texans. They have some injury problems. They lost Reggie Hayward, Marcus Stroud is ailing, they lost their stud MLB Mike Peterson for the season. Leftwich is hurting and Matt Jones has missed several games and has the groin/hamstring lingering problems. Will they be motivated after losing to HOU or will they continue to slide as they go on the road? Leftwich is a slow release and slow non-mobile QB.

BYE - Comes at a good time. Time to take a step back and get ready for the playoff push. Andy Reid, prior to 2005, has been money in November and December.

Nov 12th - WASHINGTON - The big bad taterskins come to town a week after playing Dallas. They always get up for the Cowboys much like the Eagles. They are not what many thought they'd be. They don't look so tough now. They also have injury problems.

Nov 19th - TENNESSEE - The lowly Titans come to town to finish up a 3-game homestand for the Eagles. Yeah they beat Washington but they still are a bad football team that is mostly young and inexperienced.

Nov 26th - @ INDIANAPOLIS - Tough game. Very tough game.

Dec 4th - CAROLINA - Are the Panthers what everyone thought they'd be this year? No. They're good but they are not dominating. They can be beaten.

Dec 10th - @ WASHINGTON - The "terrible trifecta" starts on this day in Washington. The three straight divison road games. The Skins will likely be playing for pride only by this time.

Dec 17th - @ NEW YORK - The Giants have some issues as a team too.

Dec 25th - @ DALLAS - They'll want revenge and so will TO. In their house could be tough. But who knows how it will look when the game rolls around. Will they still be playing well? Who knows.

Dec 31st - ATLANTA - The Falcons come in ona short week after a likely big game against Dallas. Its too early to call how this will set up, but it could be tough.

My whole point is that we don't know how these games in the 2nd half will look once we get to them. Who knows who will be hurt and how that team will be playing? No one. Just like no one knew what the end of 2002 would look like - but the Eagles did what they had to do. They won.

Like I said earlier - they HAVE To clean up the ignorant, stupid mental mistakes or else all of this is moot. But in the past they have done this and played a strong 2nd half (sans the 2005 season). Why should this year be any different? And we didn't have McNabb playing OUT OF HIS MIND in those years either (except 2004). What I mean is he's on fire this season like we've never seen before.

Geowhizzer

You're just trying to make me feel better.  Ya big galoot.

The BIGSTUD

It is hard to say how it will play out, because the Eagles haven't played one consistent full 4 quarters of football all season.

The Eagles right now SHOULD be 7-0. Should've, would've, could've, aren't. This team is certainly capable of being an 11-5 team with the remaining schedule. The question is, will they finally play consistent football or will they continue to play a tale of two halves style of play and make key mistakes in key moments. I think that is the difference between a 9-7 or an 11-5 football team.

Sun., Oct. 29     Jacksonville W
Sun., Nov. 12    Washington W
Sun., Nov. 19    Tennessee W
Sun., Nov. 26    @ Indy L
Mon., Dec. 4    Carolina W
Sun., Dec. 10    @ Washington W
Sun., Dec. 17    @ Giants W
Mon., Dec. 25    @ Dallas L
Sun., Dec. 31    Atlanta W

That is how I see it breaking down if we can play some consistent football and start getting our heads in the game. If not, change the Giants and Carolina to losses.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

LBIggle

they lose again next sunday, drop the indy and the dallas game.

probably throw another loss in there for shteins and giggles.

General_Failure

I'm predicting losses for the rest of the season. Somehow, I think I'll end up above .500 at the end.

The man. The myth. The legend.

i agree with u and thats why i went out on a limb to predict a 11-5 finish.

anyway its nice that the giants and cowboys have tough schedules as well.

The BIGSTUD

Sometimes teams don't respond until their backs are backed up completely against the wall. It's a shame it had to come to that, but we'll find out on sunday I guess. I think this game is as big of a lock as there is in this league. If the Eagles don't win the season is over.

are you kidding me?....colts carolina giants and dallas are all better than any of the above teams you mentioned...plus three straight on the road in division is much harder than the scenario above you mention

the eagles were successful back then for two reasons the worst the division has ever been and ever will be and a all around horrible conference...plus they still had many of ray rhodes leftovers on defense

season is over...time to look at next year and see where they can improve if they can at all...gotta start with a complete overhaul of the offense...its not built to win tough games.....yeah it can roll some nice numbers occasionally and mostly against inferior competition but its not built to win championships...not to mention the guy running it (meaning reid) is a complete trainwreck once the game starts

the jags got blown the eff out by the texans so i'm not sure why everybody's counting this game as a loss....they can beat the jags and they should beat the skins & titans so 7-3 is a distinct possibility.

The Eagles are fully capable of beating any team in the league.  Conversely, they also seem very capable of losing to any team in the league.  Even the Raiders.
