Cardio farging sucks. 4.5 miles is damned good. I have been in shape or sort of in shape for my whole life and I have only run 4.5 miles or more like 10 5 times total. Of course, running eats balls and I avoid it like the plagued AIDS penis that it is, but still. Well done.

Edit: After thinking about it for 5 seconds, I realized that I can probably count the number of times I've run that far on one hand.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

the hardest part of my the last 6 months and getting in shape has been my cardio endurance.  today i was able to run start to finish for 4.5 miles.  my pace was only 9:11 min/mile (omg 9/11 never forget) but I was more happy about the distance and the fact that I did the whole thing without having to stop.

9:11 is really good, especially considering it's your longest distance thus far. I have no idea what some farging people are doing when they post "ran 2.5 miles in 32 minutes" on Facebook. I mean... Christ, I walk faster than that.

nice work sunny. i've been doing like 3-4 miles almost on a daily basis and just went for five a few nights ago. definitely the first time i've ever run five miles in my entire life. however until i kick this smoking habit i don't think my times will be getting any better. i was almost exactly 45 min for 5 miles so pretty much the same pace, and in my head i was flying.

That's awesome. I don't like running, but I like having run. I've been doing a lot more cycling, because I like it a lot more and because the weather has allowed it. But there will be more running in my future with the cooler months ahead. As it is now, I run 2 days a week, and ride another 3 days. I also ride my bike to the gym as a warmup, but that's not a cardio thing as much as it is more fun and productive than driving.

yeah sometimes i feel like prefontaine out there and when my app updates me on my pace it's considerably less than that and brings me back to earth

i'm sure my extra distance is at least partly attributed to the fact that it was like 50 degrees this morning.  it was actually enjoyable to be outside running.  even starting early in the morning during the summer sucks because it gets hot and muggy quickly and just saps your energy.

Couldn't agree more. The conditions make a HUGE difference.

I had a buddy who ran the Boston marathon this year and was shooting for a sub-3-hour marathon. He didn't even break 4.
(no, I'm not talking about Paul Ryan)

Gonna have to disagree with your assessment there.

I've been getting up 3-4 days a week at 5:10am to run several miles and get my ass kicked by a woman who weighs about 90 pounds.

You are not the loser here. We are the losers. Big fat losers.

Sub 10s are a great pace to run.  Good job Sunny.

Sweet!

Sounds like you'll be getting there soon... and you'll probably be faster than me, as I'm one of the worst athletes in the history of athletics.

Dillen

Every time I run or play basketball, I have 2 or 3 rounds of violent shteinting that start the second I stop running. Playing basketball for 2 hours turns into a 3.5 hour overall event for me. Thoughts?

PhillyPhreak54

Um, weird?

You're jostling the shtein loose?
