I could never get into the supplement thing. I tried a few things over the course of time, but they were expensive and didn't seem to make much of a difference. These days, I stick with a "sport" mulitvitamin. The "sport" part adds a little green tea, glutamine and chromium. And I take an Omega 3. Every once and again, I'll use a little protein powder for something.

Some people swear by other stuff, but it seems like a bunch of over-marketed crap to me.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input.

Eat right, (for the most part) do 1/2 hour of cardio 4 days a week, and light free weights three days a week and your body will be transformed in three months.

I yo-yo between 190-215 pounds but I've definitely been 215-220 for the better part of a year now and it sucks.  I just don't have the time or motivation to get going again.  It happens when you hit your 40's guys.  We can't all be Jack Lalanne.

I really despise cardio and since I'm 5'10 140 Im gonna avoid it as long as I can. I'm up to 5 days of heavy (for me) lifting though a week.

5'10 140 lbs...18 yrs old? jesus christ

has anybody told you that you have nothing to worry about? I just did.

mpmcgraw

I'm not worried I'd just prefer to put on muscle.

At 18 you're still growing, and at that height and age I'd literally be eating everything in sight. You have a ton of room to grow and regardless of how much weights you do you need to eat, eat, eat. I'd also encourage you to work the shtein out of your legs, that'll pack on muscle fast. Squats, hack squats, leg press etc.

Man, thats some funny chit.

whoa ho......it's getting a little........it's getting' a little dirty...

Started sit ups and crunches again. By far my least favorite workout. I usually like a little muscle soreness but ab pain is just god awful. I can't even poop without soreness.

The last time I was 140 pounds, I was in 9th grade.

What SD said, work out your legs. At 18 years old, doing squats will add an instant 10 pounds....maybe more. Not to mention that squatting releases growth hormones.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I usually go in cycles. I'm excellent at losing weight and gaining weight, but I need to work on my maintenance skills. I've been working out twice a day for the last couple of months (weights during the day and running at night) and that's made a big difference, because it's been solid fat loss, with muscle gain, which is always the trick. Too many times people lose the weight and get that sort of skinny fat look, because the muscle falls away with the fat. But I need to be really clean about it-- some people can eat some crap and get results...but my body apparently doesn't work that way. Meh. Gotta do what you gotta do.
This is exactly how I am and I don't get it. My metabolism is ridiculously fast. I'm 6 feet tall and last August I was like 160 pounds. Since then, I've fluctuated from anywhere between 150ish and 170. I'm 165 now. I started working out last fall but didn't really understand all the best ways to gain mass, muscle, all that shtein. I started working out with a friend who is a freak about all that and now I'm finally showing consistent progress instead of randomly losing 5-10 pounds. By the end of summer I'm hoping to be around 175 and actually keep it on. I look skinny but nowhere near unhealthy since I have little fat and some muscle. It's really not that big of a deal to me, but in the past on those days where I'd weigh myself and the scale says like 152 pounds I'd just think "are you farging serious?"
