Started back at the gym Monday. I do 30 minutes of cardio and 15-20 minutes of weights at a fast pace. Good news is my strength has held up even though I haven't lifted much in the last 2 years. My goal is to get back to 200 lbs. by opening day of the NFL. Not even gonna bother weighing myself but I'm guessing I have around 30 lbs. to lose.

Same here.  Im trying to drop 15 lbs by the end of summer.  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday have been doing an hour+ of cardio.  I travel thursday, so its hard to get anything in.  Friday, saturday, sunday is a combination of outdoor activities and indoor cardio.  This Sunday, for example, I took a hike (http://www.localhikes.com/Hikes/bear_peak_S_2082.asp) before I got picked up for my flight.

Unfortunatly, I dont have a gym in my condo, and the hotel gym has nothing for weights.  So for now, Im more focused on cardio with some pushups and whatever strength training I can do in my room.
I'm not from Philly but some say I'm blunt.

Pick me up a cheesesteak and a six pack of Guinness on the way back from Pilates then.

As far as beer goes, Guinness is actually one of the better dietary choices.

Less calories than skim milk. No carbonation. Delicious.

I cut my cardio down to 25 minutes from 30 and added a fast paced weight routine in high reps. I'm getting a lot better results than just straight cardio, which gets boring as all hell. Diet I'm on isn't bad so far, made a great stir fry for dinner. Tomorrow I won't be able to make the gym, so I plan on walking for 30 minutes and doing a bunch of pushups. If you remember my uncle from camp I'm following his program. Don't plan on breaking at all until camp, and even then it'll be a modification.

If you are following his program, does that mean you are going to get guns as big as my quads?

What do you think of those Bowflex SelectTech weights?  I would like to have some weights in my place, but I live in a 900 sqft loft, so space is an issue.

I used them before, weights are weights. I'd say go for it. I quit doing a body part a day until exhaustion, I mix things up a bit and do different body parts daily in high reps.

He's into crossfit, I'd like to get into it but I don't feel like driving 30-45 minutes to his gym when I have mine literally 5 minutes down the road. He's had those guns since we were in our early teens, nothing can supplement great genetics.

I've mixed up my routine quite a bit and nothing seems to work better for me that what I originally did. I have gotten bored with the cardio and there are some days that I dread stepping on the elliptical but since I hate the treadmill, I climb aboard.

The routine I've gone back to is this:

6 days a week of 35 minutes on the elliptical
150 crunches per day
Alternating days of upper body and lower body weights

Upper routine:
3 sets (12, 10, 10) regular bench
3 sets (12, 10, 10) incline bench
3 sets (12, 10, 10) dead lift
3 sets cable crosses (12, 10, 10)
3 sets sitting rows (12, 10, 10)
3 sets on each arm of overhead cable pull downs (like a pitcher throwing the ball)

Lower routine:
3 sets squats
3 sets leg press
200 calf raises
3 sets lunges

It's pretty simple because that is how I started out and it worked, so I stayed with it for the most part.

My diet isn't as strict this time (I drink more diet sodas than the one per week I allowed myself before) but I still follow the 1500-1900 calories per day with one "cheat day" per week.

I will also stray on adding in something like an ice cream cone or candy, but I always fit it into my caloric intake for the day.

I really want to lose this final 30lbs and hit 225...

Zanshin

If you're at a standstill, you might want to think about a HIIT routine for your cardio to shake things up a little.

rjs246

If I see one more P90X infotainment piece I might throw a brick through my television.

On the other hand, anyone know if that shtein works?
