The Amtrak train that derailed Tuesday in Philadelphia is believed to have been traveling in excess of 100 mph as it approached a turn that is rated at 50 mph, according to a source briefed by investigators.

The death toll in the Tuesday night derailment of an Amtrak train has risen to seven, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter said in a news conference
