If anything, I think Horn was even more positive about Stallworth than was Howard.

Reading is fundamental, Rome.

Stallworth is now on the practice field, indicating that Simoneau passed his physical and the trade is final.

Press conference with Stallworth at 3:15.

I was referring to the comments below.

Quote"It didn't pan out for Donte. It's like I told him before he left, the world's not over..."

I don't understand why Joe Horn would make comments like that if there wasn't a problem with Stallworth's frame of mind in New Orleans.

Yeah, he was complimentary about his abilities and all, but what would prompt him to say things like the world's not over and it didn't pan out for him in New Orleans if everything was hunky dory down there?

I was just curious was he would say something like that, that's all.

The way I see it, he said "It didnt pan out for Donte" because generally high picks dont leave a team after four years. And everything isnt 'hunky dory' down there, have you seen their team the past couple of years? Im sure tons of players would get out of there if the could.

Rome

And for what it's worth, I'm not the least bit concerned about him.  I think he's a great pickup for the Eagles.  I'm just curious why he would need "bucking up" or consolation from Horn considering he just got traded to the Eagles from the Saints.

Wouldn't it be a blow to your ego if you came into the league as the 13th overall pick and after your best season, you got traded for Mark Simoneau and a 3rd or 4th round pick?  Horn's just looking out for the guy.

That's the impression I got. "Working out" would have been the Saints awarding Stallworth a huge new contract this year...

Rome

Of course it would.  But like Dio offered earlier, it's pathetic that a professional athlete would have to be coddled in any way, shape or form if he got traded, especially considering he's going from the Saints to the Eagles.

General_Failure

Only one team could have their fans go from excitement to thinking the player will be a bust in under 24 hours.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Rome

Who said anything about him being a bust?

General_Failure

He's a headcase! He's going to cry and not do good! And stuff!

The man. The myth. The legend.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Jerome99:  You're reading into Horn's comments WAY too deeply.  WAY.

GCobb is apparently watching practice and slobbing Stallworth's knob on WIP.
Donte's lining up with the 2nd team in the X position for now.
