Spadaro reporting that Stallworth has passed his physical.  Simoneau is scheduled to land in NO at 11:30, and Stallworth cannot practice with the team until Sims passes his physical.

Also, he says Heckert will detail how the deal went down during tonight's "Daily Eagle".  Sure.

the crazy thing is my boy talked to Heckert yesterday about his CC right before the deal was announced.

I'm not sure that I've chimed in here, but I figured I'd let you all know that my level of excitement over this trade is completely disproportionate to Stallworth's actual level of talent. He's a good #2 but I'm friggin giddy about this trade. He's a huge upgrade over Pinkston, even when Pinkston is healthy, and he has more speed than any receiver I can remember on this team.

The thing that I like the most about this pickup, though, is that his presense should help Brown have a better year. In the long run, that's going to be just as important as anything Stallworth actually does.

Yep.. that's what it's all about.  Gives our guy Reggie a better chance to shine... which in turn, makes Stallworth all the more dangerous.  No "dominant" WR out there, but 2 very solid guys at the top of the depth chart and some young guys who have (now, an even better) chance to grow into good contributors in the passing game.  Once Stallworth gets back up to speed... we should have a pretty solid corps.

As far as picking up the playbook... Spads brought up an interesting point in one of his articles that could mean that he won't have as steep of a learning curve as we originally thought.

QuoteOne challenge for Stallworth is that he will have to learn a new offense for the second time since the end of last season. Stallworth was learning a West Coast system under new head coach Sean Payton in New Orleans. Now, he will have to adapt to the West Coast style run by head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.

Let's hope Dante' takes Joe Horn's parting comments to heart:

Quote"The positive thing I gave Donte was, "You get to Philadelphia, you grab Donovan and tell him that you are there to work,' " Saints three-time Pro Bowl receiver Joe Horn told reporters covering the Saints in Metarie, La.

"In this league you don't have to go there to make friends. You go there to do your job and people have to respect you. That's what you want to do. Sooner or later you'll meet friends, but right now you have get down there and learn that playbook. And make plays, and let Donovan and let coach Reid know you're there to take care of business.

"It didn't pan out for Donte. It's like I told him before he left, the world's not over. You still have an opportunity to go to a hell of an organization, down in Philadelphia with Donovan, a great football coach and a winning history. You have an opportunity to shine. You have an opportunity to show what you're really worth."

So what number will Mr. Stallworth be wearing?

83? Only if Fast Greggie is cut - and I think he stays now.
87? Is We Todd Did done?
80? Byebye Jabar?
14? I hate WRs wearing numbers in the teens
13? Ed's boy Bill Campbody will give it up soon.
16?
17?
18? Possible
19?

And he will be wearing #18.

Further, overkill proof, that athletes are farging morons.  The possibility that Stallworth would need to hear such pat, obvious, cliched advice is very real, and very atrocious.  farging simps.  Shut up and play, goddamnit.

And he will be wearing #18.

#18....distant memories of Ben Hawkins sprinting downfield and leaping for passes. I like that association!  ;)

Interesting.  Did he wear #18 in college?

I'm wondering which player to believe here.  Should we believe Horn who suggests that Stallworth is an underachieving head case or Darren Howard who suggests he's a talented player with a solid work ethic?

I'm further wondering why Joe Horn would open his big mouth at all considering the types of things he supposedly said to Stallworth seem to be the kind of things you keep private.

Whatever.  When the rubber hits the road, we'll see what Donte's all about.

Where does Horn suggest Stallworth's a headcase?  We all know the questions around him, but Horn's comments just seemed little more than wanting him to make a good impression.

youre reading that totally different than i am romey...to me horn is praising him...almost to the point of being over the top...he sounds as if his wife just left him...

he also said this yesterday about donte...

Horn told the Associated Press. "He has talent and it wouldn't shock me at all to see Donte' catching 10 or 15 passes a game from Donovan McNabb, but it didn't happen here in New Orleans and that's the sad part. They got a hell of deal."
