That's true, but TO could very conceivably triple his career high in TD's for a season. And almost get 4 to 5 hundred more total yards.

lackadaize

Branch is certainly of the mould the Eagles are looking for.  He's at the ripe age which the Eagles covet for five or six year deals.  He's right up there with some of the best recievers in the game, and Reggie Brown needs someone to alleviate the double team pressure he's going to see as the number one reciever.  He also doesn't whine like a lot of other recievers.  Brown and Branch are very much alike, but Branch has clearly got a lot more experience.  If we had signed TO for more money and made him "happy" he would still be doing what he's doing now in Dallas.  he claims to have gotten the contract he wanted, and he's already causing trouble, before the season even starts.  If Branch gets money from the Eagles like TO wanted you can't compare the two situations.  I'm all about the Eagles salary cap wizardry, but reall the only reason you want to manage the cap as well as they do is so that you can take a stab at bonified players who cost a little more.  There is no point in being like 30 mill a year under the cap if you don't do anything with that money at some point.  Now is a key point at which they should dedicate money towards a true blue reciever who would be perfect for this offense.  Though the NE offense is not the same as the west coast style it actually hasn't been too dissimilar.  Part of the reason his numbers aren't incredibly high is because of the spread the ball mentality there too.  You see what happened when TO averaged amazing numbers?  the team offense fell apart. Branch is a threat all over the field, he can run deep routes, he runs across the field, and his skill set would be perfect for the west coast, spread the ball around, mantra.  I think there's a better shot of them at least offering something for him than for lelie.  Whether or not the patriots are serious is another thing though.  I can't really comment on that.

Welcome to the board by the way.

Yeah, except that Branch and Brown are really not very much alike.  Brown is not nearly as fast or shifty, but has more size (who doesn't) and plays more physical.

Branch is along the lines of a Steve Smith or Santana Moss... and there's nothing wrong with that, even though Donte Stallworth is 10 times the WR of anyone else mentioned in this post.

I agree, but other than that he made some good points.

After reading the NE papers today it appears that Branch wants Reggie Wayne money.

6 years $40M with a $13.5M signing bonus.

So?  He could get something close to that.  Why not?

I'm fine with it. Since Banner and Roseman are so good at structuring deals I would have no worries if they paid him in the neighborhood of Wayne.

But it won't happen. Todd Pinkston is back!

The BIGSTUD

If the Eagles believe in their receivers that's one thing. But if they sell to the fans right now that Pinkston is going to be a major contributor this year, then that is another thing. I don't want to hear that BS coming from the FO right now. Especially not right after guys are being acquired by other teams or being passed over by the Eagles.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

i hady me some baja Fresh for lunch today. Few hours later I braided some fecal rope, and the larger plop looked just like a scalled down verson of G Lew... with some munched up beans on his face. I wriggled off a wee dinkle, and as it landed in such a way that it looked like Poo Lew was stretching out to make the grab.

G Lew had a good night tonigt.

I am farging thrasdh.

Holy shtein. This must have been right after I got home from my buddies house. We watched the game in his garage. Dude has one of those refrigerators with the tap in it. Miller Lite and Jamison all night. I was flagged by 10:30. I remember getting on the board, but have no recollection of making this post. Good times.

The impressive part, as I mentioned, was that you apparently edited it at some point.

I read the original. He edited trashed at the end to what you see now.

So, as I suspected, he edited it to make himself appear more drunk than he really was, like a 19-year-old sorority girl.
