Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

its pretty standard for a tv show...no shows plan to go 2 or 3. either its a minseries or its running for as long as it can run

well i guess sure he can sign up for a show as some kind of villain or one-off character....like joey pants in the sopranos...but as the protagonist of a show bbt wasnt going to lock in for 6 years

Larry Wilmore taking over for Colbert....A really good choice that I hadn't even considered.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

The Minority Report, huh? I hope it lasts longer than Chocolate News did.

Rome

He's freaking hilarious.  A perfect choice, actually.

Well......with a show name like "The Minority Report" you pretty much need a black guy to host it.  They could have gone with that muslim terrorist guy, but it'll still be a few years before those people [terrorists] even reach minority status.

General_Failure

They could have had Tom Cruise host it. I'll bet they didn't even ask him.

Anyone else catch the past two weeks of Vice?

  • The Papua New Guinea oil boom was pretty enlightening about the potential for civil war from the populous.  The Governor gets 2% of any Oil earnings, all citizens get not a dime, and were moved off their land so Exxon and other energy consortium's could begin their operations.
  • The West Texas drought and global warming denial was pretty ridiculous.  Everyone praying for rain, thinking that it's all part of God's plan.  It's almost as if they deny why the Dust Bowl occured.  Loved the farmers who had to sell off or kill their cattle because they don't have enough water to keep up with the herd, meanwhile there's hydro fracking retention ponds that are 30 feet deep
  • Gulabi Gang in India fighting the gang rape phenomenon was interesting, mainly to see how inept the local police and govt officials were.
  • Kazakhstan and the genetic fallout from The Polygon.  Really disturbing view to the continued impacts from Nuclear testing during the cold war. Reminiscent of the HBO documentary Chernobyl Diaries with the visit to the orphanages full of children with horrendous genetic defects.   The doctor they interviewed for the piece was lobbying for what amounts to a  eugenics program to ensure that none of gene's from the inhabitants spread into a larger gene pool.  Highly recommend watching this one, was on May 9th.

Never seen it, but this show must be serious business if you used bullet points.
